Re: Day 5 Help

I have a friend from South Africa.  She moved to Canada from SA when she was 11 i think. Don't worry you'll look great on the 2nd of Nov.  So u droped those 9kg just doing CSD or did u do anything else.  It's been my second day and I havn't seen any changes on the scale.  I'll be happy if i loose 4/5 kgs.  Can you tell me about 3DD and SB diets I would like to flow them afterwards.  I just took my kids to Carnival and i was tempted to eat hotdogs and popcorn but i'm glade i came out eating nothing.  So i'm very happy about my self.  Good luck for the weedend.  Keep me posted.

Re: Day 5 Help

Well I guess no matter how I look on the 2nd, it'll be better than before. No, I lost the 9k.gs on the three day diet. I was amazingly strict with it though and when I was off the diet, I watched every little thing that went into my mouth. Before that, when I did my intial first major weight loss (22+ k.g.s) I actually became a strict vegetarian. I still had dairy products but the cutting off of the meat (I ate an incredible amount of red meats) did wonders and within three months was down to 22 k.gs.

The 3DD is basically a three day diet where you cut your calories down to about 800 - 900 calories a day. The normal intake for a female is around 2000 calories, so it's basically halving what you eat. All meals are balanced in such a way that they digest quicker and help burn fat (or so I have been told). You eat three meals a day, with tea and coffee (no sugar, no milk) with each meal. The thing that makes this diet unique is that you get to have a cup of vanilla ice cream after each dinner. Some versions of the diet will say half a cup, I generally stick to that one. Another treat on the diet (the first day) is peanut butter on toast and a grapefruit. Peanut butter is always a treat. Other than that you eat crazy foods together, like on the last day for dinner you eat 100g cauliflower, 100g Beetroot (or carrots) and a tin of tuna. What I have found is that you can replace the tuna with low fat cream cheese. I would eat that any day over that vast amount of saltwater tuna. It's a simple routine to stick and nicely enough it's quick and easy to follow. The only thing I didn't like about it was that if you don't watch yourself you put that weight back on quickly. Also on this diet, the entire three days I generally have a weight loss of about 600g. This is far from the promised 5k.gs and 20kgs in a month. My biggest weight loss, I found was only on the fifth day. In total I lost on that diet after one go was about 2kgs. Only once I was done the diet did I exercise and watched what I ate and by doing that lost the extra three kgs (and of course the weight I put back on after the first go) I felt very hungry, but because it was three days I moved past it and kept my head down. Oh yes, before I forget the other thing I liked about this diet was that you can have diet soda. Something I'm not a fan of, but in the evenings when you feel hungry (because you do) drinking a can of soda is so nice and it fills you up.

The SB diet, which I have only been introduced to recently (so I am no expert) sounds really interesting. Basically it work in phases. The first phase, which is as far as I think I am going to go when I finish this diet is basically as follows:

You cut out all the carbs and fruits. No bread. No starch. No sugars. You get to have unlimited amounts of protien (obviously you shouldn't go over board) . The protiens are things like beef, cold meat, chicken, turkey, CHEESE!!!! and even eggs. With every protien you have you have to have a veg. The list for that is rather long. So basically in the morning, it's a protien and half a cup of veg (if I remember correctly) and then lunch and dinner is the same. Protien and 2 cups of veg. That's basically that whole diet. I think I might try it, apparantly it will help you lose even more weight. But as I have not tried it, I am unsure about it.

In my honest opinion I would do the 3DD again. I don't know why, but I would. I guess it puts you in the right frame of mind when it comes to dieting and it's a good kickstart. I think the weightloss does vary from person to person. I once read that the amount of weight a person loses differs and if you are heavily overweight you will lose quicker than a person who is half your size for example. So the closer you get to your goal the less you'll lose at a period of time. Exercising is definitely a must and even if you feel tired and sluggish you should do it because it gives you more energy.

Enough of this babbling.... I feel like I'm talking to much. smiley-blush

Well, I slipped slightly this evening, I had a bit more potato. At least I can rest assured knowing the potatoes were not that big to begin with. Oh well, it can't hurt. smiley-sad
