Hi everyone!
I will be starting the CSD tomorrow and I wanted to make sure I do it right.
I am vegetarian and lactose intolerant. so for Day 5 and Day 6 should i skip the meat and continue on with the diet?
I also don't eat dairy products and can't have banana's so should I just skip the bananas and milk and have a day of nonfat soy milk and soup that day?
Is alcohol off limits with this diet? I like to have a glass of whiskey and sugarfree calorie free juice mix. Would this be ok?
I hope to loose 6-8 lbs by the end of day 7!! Thanks all!!

Sprout...I see that nobody is answering you ...and I hesitate here...as I did read your post last night and hoped someone else would answer you...but here goes! Some have used vegetarian meat products or tofu on the meat days...some have skipped banana day and have done day 3 over again....as far as alcohol.....absolutely not allowed ...as is soda...as far as I know. If the diet is changed too much to everybody's liking...then it won't be the cabbage soup diet anymore...again, I hesitate...but...this may not be the diet for you....these are my opinions, someone else may tell you differently....I myself follow the diet as it is and have no problem sticking with it....but when I looked into doing this diet I knew I could. I looked at the soup...checked out the program and what to eat on days 1-7, quit drinking and here I am...losing and loving it! I am sorry if my answer is not what you wanted to hear. Anyway, good luck to you......................

Thank you for your response.
I was reading through previous post and saw that somebody had said beer was ok as long the whole 6 pack isn't downed, so I was just curious.. that's all.
Day 1 has been going good. The soup is actually very delicious.. and i absolutely love cabbage!
I'll continue to post my progress and read up on how you guys are all doing.
Good luck!

Sprout...that was me that said that....but only because that person felt soooo bad that they had goofed up and drank a beer one night. The six pack comment was only a joke.........I never said beer was O.K. as a beverage to drink on this diet...as I wouldn't condone wine or any type of liquor or spirits.......I just wanted them to forget about their downfall and move forward............

Oh i see. Well i appreciate you for your reponse. I'm new to the diet and as a vegetarian I thought this diet was perfect since it's all vegetable and fruit. As for the beef I wasn't sure if substituting was a no-no. I'm just looking to gain advice from those who have been through this diet before on what's acceptable and what is definitely not. But definitely being vegetarian/vegan requires to subsitute to receipes and diet's. I just wasn't sure how flexible this one was. But it seems it's flexible enough for me to have my goal of loosing the excess lbs I put on over the year
Lets see how the week goes because so far the cabbage soup is making me go to the bathroom frequently. I've read that this is normal for some people. but I definitely do feel thinner already.

I was a vegetarian for 5 or 6 years awhile back and I appreciate how difficult it can be to be on a diet especially when you are vegan...it will take a little more work on your part to stay on this diet....but vegans in general are used to that, right? The diet makes one lose the bloating ...so you should expect to visit the bathroom frequently! I refrained from weighing myself till I was through with the 7th day....that's just the way I am, I'm not into numbers that much...but many...maybe most...like to weigh daily or every few days....that's something you will have to decide............

I also don't want to weigh myself after the 7th day. I don't want to spoil it for myself. But i do feel great and cleansed already. Today is day 2.. Yesterday was a little rough because I love fruits.. but I don't want to eat them all throughout the day so I found myself eatting bowls of soup for lunch and dinner.
Day 2 I'm looking forward to today. I love veggies and I saw a post earlier about calorie free/fat free/carb free dressing.. and I saw that my super market carried it. So I'm excited to dress up my spinach leaves and broccoli.
I'll update and let you all know how today goes! It's also baked potato day!!!!

Hi Sprout...just want to remind you about that baked potato....some members forget they can have one....I'd put a big sign up on your frig to remind you. I don't know what it is about that potato....it's just the best. It is also day 2 on CSD for me and I have a BIG 15oz potato sitting on the counter just waiting for me. I use about a heaping tsp of real butter on it with a sprinkle of Molly Mcbutter, and a grind of black pepper...it really makes the day!

Ohh that sounds absolutely delicious! Believe me I won't forget the potato. I am a huge carb fanatic so today's potato and Day 7's brown rice is getting me excited. Today I made a huge salad of steamed broccoli, cauliflower, mushroom, artichoke with that salad dressing with mrs. dash sprinkled. I also made steamed cabbage and dip it in vietnamese chili sauce.
I'm already making a 2nd batch of soup.. this time I put a ton of garlic powder and cayenne pepper.

Hi Sprout..........I use the Walthan Farms salad dressings too. Which one are you using?....I have at least 4 kinds in the house and I believe they make 6 or 7 varieties. They also make a pancake syrup with the same qualities.
On rice day...I saved my rice for the dinner meal...I ate 2 cups of cooked brown basmati organic rice with a ton of chinese veggies and poured a bit of Braggs liquid aminos (a type of soy sauce) on it. It was really good. That day I had a couple 12oz glasses of orange juice, and , of course the cabbage soup...it was a very satisfing day I must say....................enjoy that potato....I know I will....it's lookin at me over there on the counter!
