Anyone want to do the South Beach Diet with me?

Hello there! I completed the cabbage soup diet and lost 3.5 pounds. I really want to loose 6.5 pounds more so I decided to start doing the South Beach Diet. It's not as strict as the CSD so I believe I can do it.

I woke up this morning. Had my cup of coffee, 2 eggs, with cheese. I feel wonderful!!! After eating cabbage soup for 6 days anything tastes wonderful. I was tempted to eat some bread..but I didn't.

Hmmm..what's for lunch?

Re: Anyone want to do the South Beach Diet with me?

Hey Chubbymommy

You know I am with you and I think we have a large crowd that will be joining us

I finished my 7 days and lost just the 3 pounds but I have to say that the past two nights the wine was calling my name and I did drink it LOL.

But now back on the straight and narrow.  I had been doing a modified version of csd and sb for the past week so this will be just a continuation fo rme.

For breakfast I made some egg drop soup--low sodium chicken broth, a handful of onion and pepers chopped up then drizzled in the equv of two eggs with egg beaters it was very good.

I still made my cabbage soup to pack with me to work.  it meets the "min" 2 cups of veggies for lunch, and for dinner I usualy have some kind of stir fry or salad.

We can do this for 2 weeks then do another week of the stricter csd.

Re: Anyone want to do the South Beach Diet with me?

Hi nancy! Here we go again eh? yeah I wanted to create a new topic because I don't want to confuse the newcomers to the csd.

I know what you mean. I felt so bad when i ate the sushi with rice and a delicious martini. Yummy. After 6 days I only lost 3.5. I'll take it though. I have a big party to go to on the 14th and i was really hoping that I would have lost 10 lbs by now. According to the South Beach Diet book I can lose from 8-13 lbs in 2 weeks! That would be perfect! If can lose the remaing 6.5 lbs by the 14th that'll be great!

I'm eating the cabbage soup with some chicken. It tastes really good! I'm not suppose to each any fruits. That's hard. To stop me from wanting sweets I'm going to buy some sugar free jello and eat that so my sugar craving will be met.

We can do it together!

Re: Anyone want to do the South Beach Diet with me?

well I started out with good intentions today but fell off my wagon -- again-- so I will start fresh tomorrow.  You do get use to the fruit being gone.   I seem to do much better during the week when things are more structured rather than weekends when there are not real planned meals with the family

I don't know if we will lose the 8-12 pounds in two weeks I seem to avg only about 3 pounds a week when I follow it but hey I will take those, I would prefer slow and steady then quick loss and gain it back

Re: Anyone want to do the South Beach Diet with me?

As always nancy you are so wise smiley-smile

yeah, weekends are hard. There are always parties to go to. I am a stay at home mom so I'm always trapped at home, most of the time. At least you get to go to work and there is a better routine. Lucky!

anyways, you'll do better tomorrow. As for me today. I way pretty good. I didn't binge but I did munch. I ate 2 cookies, some tablespoon fulls of jello (not the sugar free kind) I didn't know that it wasn't sugar free until I saw the box in the garbage!! Ugh. I have to buy some.

I love eating my cabbage soup and chicken. Hopefully I keep it up this week.

We can do this!!!! Just hang in there with me, please!!!

oh I am hanging in there just getting ready to go off to work, have my lunch packed...egg beaters omlet, cs in a large container, some celerly and a bit of summer sausage and a cheese stick.

That will have to do me all day until dinner tonight which I think I will have some chicken and maybe a few stir fried veggies

Re: Anyone want to do the South Beach Diet with me?

Sound like a plan!!! I just woke up. No school for kids today so we kinda slept in.

I'm making coffee right now to get me going and I'm boiling 2 eggs. My schedule may change soon. I'm looking for a job right now and hopefully by next week I'll be heading off to work each morning smiley-smile I'm really excited.

I'm going to work out everyday for this diet. I didn't loose any weight this morning. I guess that's better than gaining weigh eh?

Hopefully excercising will do the trick!!!

Ok, have fun at work.

Hi there,

it's midnight and I'm hungry.  I ate some almonds and drank a lot of water. As long as I don't go in the kitchen I'll be ok.

Re: Anyone want to do the South Beach Diet with me?

I woke up this morning and the scale was calling my name!!!! I vowed that I wouldn't go on it..but I couldn't help it. So I did...I'm so weak!!!

I lost .5 lbs....half a pound. How pathetic!!!! but I'll take it. I walked on the treadmill for 30 minutes before going to bed. I wonder now if that made a difference. I'm going to do the same tonight.

South Beach Diet Day #2. I don't remember if I started Sunday or Monday. Oh well doesn't matter. I'll just say today is day #2.

Today will be a good day..I can feel it!!!!

nancy, have fun at work.

Re: Anyone want to do the South Beach Diet with me?

well it is day 2 for me too, but this week I am vowing no wine on the weekends....I need to drop at least 6 pounds before my trip on the 21st and the full 10 pounds before Nov 1.

I have not eaten my breakfast yet and I know how important it is to eat in the am but I am just not ready to face my egg beater omlet.  So I will hve a glass of tea first.

Today was one of the first days I did not weight myself!  but I know I will not see a change until thurs or friday.

chubby do you keep a food log? just curious

Re: Anyone want to do the South Beach Diet with me?

I tried to keep a foot log, but I always forget!!!! So by the time I remember to write it down it'll days later and I forget what I ate.

I guess this message board is my food log. I tell everyone what I eat.  for instance, so far today for breakfast I ate 2 hard boiled eggs, a cup of coffee, a bowl of cabbage soup with chicken.  a cup of sugar free jello. That's it so far..oh yeah and a handfull of almonds. Yup, pretty boring.

I need to go to the store and buy some veggies to make a salad or something. I drink a lot of water to keep me filled up.

i also try to keep myself busy so that I don't think about food.

Breakfast for me was very hard. I'm not usually a morning eater so I'd skip it and eat like a crazy woman at lunch. But someone told mke how important it is to eat breakfast so I had to train myself...what I started doing was eating whatever I had for dinner. Then after a few days of that breakfast became a necessity. Now I need to eat breakfast or else I won't be able to function.

Ok, gotta go. I'll probably type something in again later. hang in there!

Re: Anyone want to do the South Beach Diet with me?

You are doing just great chubby, I know years ago I was never a breakfast eater now by 9-10am I really need to stop and eat a bit...thats why I like my eggbeaters with a little onion and pepper, I can cook it up in the am, put it in acontainer then heat it up at work then I am good to go!

besides that I had leftover pork chop, then for dinner two veggie pattys on a lettuce bun it was good, for a snack I will have my pickles

night

Re: Anyone want to do the South Beach Diet with me?

Ugh. Ok..so tonight was hard. I was doing well. I made dinner for my family and I ate my cabbage soup with chicken and I was full. But my husband came home with a bag of green apples and I love apples! I know I'm not allowed to eat apples on the first phase but I had to have one. Good thing it was a very small one! But still. ugh!

Oh well. I guess if I was going to have any type of carb at least I didn't eat a piece of cake or something. but I still feel like I cheated!

tomorrow is day #5. I have to go visit my brother. I hope I won't get tempted to eat anything I'm not suppose to. That is when true will power is needed.

Ok, 10 more days to go. Countdown begins!!!

Re: Anyone want to do the South Beach Diet with me?

Day #5

I'm drinking coffee. Feeling pretty good.  I was to lazy to workout yesterday. I'm making breakfast the the kids and I'm not tempted to eat their pancakes.

Most likely I'll just eat my 2 hard boiled eggs. Yummy. I can't be too creative in the morning.

Yesterday I spent the whole day watching the food network on tv with my daughter. I was surprised that I didn't devour everything in my kitchen. It made me realize how creative you can be if a person really put their minds to it.

Ok, onto day #5.

Re: Anyone want to do the South Beach Diet with me?

totally cheated yesterday and I gained a pound! Ugh! I hate this!

Around 5:30pm I made dinner for my family and I was so hungry. I ate about  a cup of cooked rice and chicken teryaki!!! I then also ate a small cup of ice cream .That late that same night I went over my friends house and ended up eating some pasta for a late night snack! ugh!! I feel terrible. Actually my stomach didn't feel so good after I ate the rice and the pasta. Why I wanted it I don't know. It's not time to reintroduce carbs yet and I think I shocked my system!

Anyways, today is suppose to be day 6 on the SBD. Or should I go back to day #1 again. My party is on the 14th and I don't think I can loose 6 lbs, now it s 7, by that time. Unless I try to do the CSD again from day #1. Hmmm..I did loose 3 pounds the first couple of days?  And I do have some more cabbage soup.

That's it. I'm going back on the CSD. Today is day#1. Fruits and soup!

Re: Anyone want to do the South Beach Diet with me?

Hey everyone. Glad to see you're all still striving for weight loss (it makes me feel better that I am too) Since finishing off the CSD, I have managed to put another 4lb back on smiley-sad  Slightly upset, but I reckon I can still lose it. Need to drop another 15 by the end of next week. Yes....that's a lot, but I have a goal plan and hopefully it will work. Tried a fast this week, lasted two days and while doing so I managed to drop 2lbs. So not to bad. How are all you SB'ers doing? Going strong? I am considering doing the CSD too or perhaps the Negative calorie diet, but we'll see.

This weekend appears to be awful one for me. One party to the next, but I'm keeping my chin up working my way through it. I hope the weekend goes well for all of you.smiley-smile

Re: Anyone want to do the South Beach Diet with me?

Hi husky! After doing the csd I've gained back 1 pound. My period started today so i wonder if that 1 pound was or is because of that.

Yesterday I fell off the wagon for the sbd. I ate a cup of rice with my teryaki chicken. then I ate some pasta late that night.

Then today I was going to do the csd starting on day one, but I ended up eating some rice again!! ugh. I am very careful though. I want to work out more. I'm debating about starting it today. too tired thorugh. On Sunday I have a party to go to too. Hard weekend!

i hope I don't gain anything more back.
