hey crispy.... well today was my first day and i did so good!! well yes you can work out and smoke i dont see why that would be a issue. i'm not sure about the pills i did fine with out them..i guess that depends on how you feel.

hi crispy hope I can answer some questions
1. I am not a fan of mushrooms so if you leave them out oh well so what
2. Lipton soup and bollioun? pick one or the other..I just use a large can of fat free chicken broth and skip the other stuff too much sodium
3. I don't eat beef so I always eat either chicken or fish of some type but I don't mix them it is either one or the other
4. I am not a banana fan and can't do dairy so I always repeat day 3 for day 4 and stil have good resuts
as for as exercise let your body be the guide I have never had a problem with it
smoking.... I am a former smoker and that was the hardes thing I ever did --quit...I would not try and do both at the same time.
the pills? save your money and skip them it is all hyped up and caffiene. I talked with my dr. about it, everyone is overweight for one reason to many calories and not enough movement. There is no magic pill to lose weight you have to move more and eat less

I couldn't do it!!! I'm such a failure...hahaha! last night I went out for dinner with my friends to a sushi house. I was really planning on sticking to my diet and not eat rice. But......when I got to the restaurant the birthday person already ordered a whole bunch of sushi (the kinds that has rice on it) and just kept them coming. i didn't want to order my own stuff cuz I didn't want to be "odd" or make the bill any higher than it was already. so I went ahead and ate sushi!!! Then on top of that it was 1/2 off on martini's!!!! So my friend got me one and of course I drank it!!! Ugh! Then we all went to my other friends house where she had a surprise for the birthday person. she made a cheesecake and I ate a small slice. I weighed myself and realized that I didn't gain anything. So far for the 6 days I've been on the CSD I lost 3.5 lbs. Not bad I think. I was really Hoping that I'd loose 10 lbs but 3.5, I'll take it. I only need 6.5 more.
Sorry everyone but I'm going to have to start the South Beach Diet a day early! Yup. Today is the day. good luck to everyone on the CSD. it really works. I'm going to start a new thread. so it doesn't confuse any newcomers!!!! This message board helped me get through it thank you so much!

Hey chubbymommy, not to worry, I drank my wine last night and the night before...I did not gain anything but I am back on the straight and narrow today.
I know how fast alcholol puts weight back on me...I lost 30 pounds last spring and summer then I relaxed and started eating and drinking my wine each night like I had in the past and over the winter and this summer put it all right back on....so that I why I am here again and really finding the support and suggestions helpful to make lifestyle changes
I am continuing on with my modified csd/sb for the next few weeks...giving up the bread, pasta and rice is the hardest part but I am not really missing it. I even made a turkey burger and used lettuce as the "bun"

hello again everyone i just started my csd today im pretty optomistic i know i can do this i really needed a change i was following some sort of calories counting by just eating weight watchers food and it was moving along pretty slow so i needed a jumstart to take a break from the monotny. ive already lost 29 lbs but it took 6 months too slow and some what discouraging when i got a 100 to go
anyway im glad i can come here and distract myself with mutal dieyer instead of the kitchen goodluck everyone

glad to see you lost-- csd is very restictive and can get very boring very fast but you never have to wonder hmmm can I have that or not.
a group of us just finished this week on csd and are now giving ourselves a bit of a break by doing sb for two weeks but please keep posting we love following everyones story

Chubbymommy7 well done for the 3.5 loss---no it's not 10, but it's better than not having done it.
Today is my day 2 and thanks to Nancy's idea of having the potato for b-fast I had a great one. Peeled and chopped my pot last night and boiled till tenderish, then this morning I put it in a frying pan with spray oil, onions and green peppers! Yum. I like things hot so added chilli flakes and grated ginger. It was really good.
I'm proud of myself because since today was first day back at work for me after 2 weeks of school hols (I work at a primary school) they had all these yummy brownies and slices and cake in the staff room and I didn't eat any!!! I munched on my carrots, and practically had to strap myself to my chair the pull toward the brownies was so strong.........
And I have only eaten 2 more hershey's kisses since my hubby brought them home from his golf win. And it's my time of the month!! So all in all I'm doing ok as far as desserts go. Alcohol is another story. Lasst night I just couldn't resist a Baileys on ice!! I tried really hard to talk myself out of it but what with the cramps and feeling sorry for myself it was not going to happen!! Anyway, plan on doing a stir-fry tonight. It's lunchtime for me now and just finished a bowl of soup. Is anyone else out there on their first week of csd?

well i survied day 2 sorta i stole 2 saltines lol i dont think i did any major damage but i dont remeber emtying my bladder all night jeeze i barely got any sleep anyway on to day 3 i shall go i can do this i kow it ! im just glad you replyed i thought i was doing something wrong

It is hard sometimes to stay focused--we know
I think one of the hardest things for me was giving up my bread, pasta and rice...then the wine. When I go a week without them I lose the weight without a problem but then I usually go back to my evil ways and for 2 or three days then poof I gain a pound back. Just like I did this weekend.
I have to make a consious choice not to include those things in my diet or if I do use sparinly <sp>

his csd_novice! Thanks for the encouragement. I lost another .5 lbs...yes that a half a pound. I'll take it though.
When I did the cabbage soup diet I would taste things just so I wont' crave it so much. Like a bite of my kids cookies, or a piece of a dorito chip. Then i'm satisfied that i just tasted the food. I feel guilty but I don't think it affects it. Now if I decide to each the whole bag or a whole bag of cookies then maybe that'll put a huge dent.
Keep up the good work! Once you're done do the southbeach diet with us!!!

I think we are turning into walking advertisement for sb...I do like that it is not as strict as csd and it is more of a long tern eating plan. I am determined to stick it out for two straight weeks. Something I have not been able to accomplish...I can do it with support from here and you (buddies until the end and the extra pounds are gone)

On day 2-
Day one really wasn't that hard except I felt like no matter how much fruit I ate, I still wanted to sink my teeth into something of substance. The toughest part was after the gym last night. I ate 3 bowls of soup and 2 apples and I was still hungry. Oh, well, it's only 7 days.
Enjoying crunhing into vegies today and I am saving my baked patatoe for some energy before the gym.
The hardest part is that soup! I love soup but apparently, I don't like cabbage. It's smells and it seems like there are too many ingrediantes in there! Can I add some more broth?
Also, I forgot to wieght myself before I started (but I did 2 days prior when I started dieting and hitting the gym hard) and I think I lost about 4-5 lbs already. My bosy kinda responsed like that, so hopefully the csd will get it going faster.
45 more lbs to go!

Yesterday i didnt do too good! I had a chicken sandwhich and an ice cream bar.....really bad i know! well today is a new day and day 4 for me. I have done really good so far. Had a banana shke for lunch...ummm so good!! I just hope I dont mess up for dinner....I really dont like the cabbage soup that much....no taste. HELP!!!!

Crispy try adding different spices to your soup, like soy sauce, chilli powder etc. that helps when it starts to taste bland or boring. As for the cabbage part of it...well???? it is the cabbage soup diet LOL
amber hang in there a slip up is just that, I have had so many I am embarrased to admit how many...I did this diet for 3 months last year and lost about 30lbs but I tried to eat well inbetween weeks and almost stuck to the diet for 7 days when I was supose too.
but gained it back when I thought I was safe to eat "normal" again--brother!, now here I am 25+ pounds up again and doing the same thing all over. Since Aug 6th I have only lost 15 pounds but then again I was not real dilligent either. But my goal this month is 10 pounds and I need 8 more to go!

Ok, today is my day 4 and so far I am loving it! For starters, my major bloating from TOM is easing up!!
Plus I had the most divine smoothie for b-fast; frozen banana, vanilla extract, cinnamon and skim milk! Yum, made me freezing cold but could have drunk about 10 of them it tasted so good! 
It's lunchtime for me and I just had 2 bowls of soup. I'm looking forward to my next banana smoothie in the afternoon. This time I am also having 2 glasses of cranberry juice a day. I didn't do that last time. Got on the scales today and am 2 pounds down which is great cause it didn't show this early for me last time!! So I am feeling super motivated and hopeful!!!
I will lose 10 pounds this month!! You and me, Nancy, we can do the 10 pounds by Nov 1!!!
Chubbymommy7 I do plan on joining you guys on SB when I finish this round of csd, definitely.

today is my day 2 on sb and so far so good the bigest problem I have would you belive is finding the time to stop and eat during my work day? I have brought my soup two days in a row for lunch and not eaten any! I do however eat the small bit of protein either cheese or meat plus my eggbeater omlet and like tonight when I got home I had a veggie burger on lettuce (that was my bun) with pickle, onion and a tea of mustard..it was great

alright, middle of day 3!
Gotta admit, the soup tated better last night (added garlic powder). Had a ton of raw vegies yesterday, went to the gym after work and then had that patato. Wow was that filling!
I forced down more soup cause it actually tasted great (plus I don't want to cheat at all).
Enjoying the fruit / vegie combo today and will down tons of soup after the gym.
I saw some banana smoothie reciept...can we use vanilla extra (doesn't that contain alcohol?) and other stuff like that?
I really don't wnat to vary any of the diet for optimal results.
So far I am down 8 lbs. (but that includes 3 extra days at the gym and regular food, 3 days prior to csd)

Wow crispy you are doing great!!!! Keep up the good work. You've just inspired me to hit the gym!!! I haven't lost any weight yet since I lost 3.5 lbs on the csd. I'm on the south beach diet right now and I haven't really cheated. but I haven't been working out that much either so maybe if put do that I'll loose more.

Hi evrybody---I haven't been able to get on this site for days now! I'm on day 7 today, YAY! Funny, I found day 5 the hardest. Maybe it's cause it was the first day I couldn't access the site? Anyway, I actaully ate a protein bar that day cause I was craving chocolate so much. I'll weigh myself tomorrow and let you know how I go.
I have done the odd cheat (nothing major except for the protein bar) so I haven't been 100% good, but I have never in my life been able to follow a diet to the letter. I was better this time than I was last time so fingers crossed!
