Can any of the following items be replaced with something else?

1.  BEEF HOT DOGS

2.  CHEDDAR CHEESE

3.  TUNA

Also for those 'veterans' out there, what were your results, is it easy to adhere to and was it worht it?

Thanks so much!

Re: Help! ~~ Questions on the "Three Day Diet"!~~

Okay so far I've gotten some input from Sally.
She replaced the beef hot dogs with low fat turkey dogs.  Personally I don't think the cheese is a problem, if you don't like cheddar do another type with similar nutritional value.

Omgirlie lost 7 pounds on it and Sally lost 3.

Any other info and input on it would be greatly appreciate!  Peace Out!

Re: Help! ~~ Questions on the "Three Day Diet"!~~

More questions...

Can cottage cheese be replaced?
Beets replaced with another 'root' veetable?
Peanut butter?  omitted or replaced?

Everyone keeps asking questions about this 3DD on other posts and I am just transferring them here so it will be easier to retrieve.

Again, if anyone out there has any input or answers, e would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks!

I didn't know what beets were for sure so I had carrots instead of them as on a web site I found it said they were OK. The cottage cheese can be substituted by tuna. I have no idea about the peanut butter. I personally wouldn't change it cos I love peanut butter. It does say not to mess with this diet if you really want to be sure of losing weight though!

Re: Help! ~~ Questions on the "Three Day Diet"!~~

Thanks Sally!
I was thinking maybe the peanut butter could be peanuts, because that's what it is, smashed up peanuts!   Do you use regular or the lower fat type?  Creamy or chunky?  I'm sure that doesn't matter, but Sally my dear, you are the 3DD Guru and we seek your wisdom!!

So we're starting on it Monday? Yeah!  I am excited but I hope I can make it, I am used to much larger portions of veggies!  But it's only 3 days,  I will give it a try!

Re: Help! ~~ Questions on the "Three Day Diet"!~~

I found one site that said we could do the following subsititutes

Substitutions
Some people use the following substitutions for the 3 day diet:

Orange instead of Grapefruit
Tuna instead of Cottage cheese (and vice versa)
Frozen yogurt instead of Ice Cream
Cauliflower instead of Broccoli (and vice versa)
Green beans instead of Broccoli or Cauliflower
Beets instead of Carrots
Toast instead of 5 crackers (vice versa)

when I did it, I did the full fat ben and jerry's vanilla ice cream, full fat cottage cheese, full fat peanut butter, and Nathan's hot dogs. I'm wondering if I can switch dinner to lunch and vice versa...

Re: Help! ~~ Questions on the "Three Day Diet"!~~

Man, I'm with you there!  Really skimpy lunches!  If we can't I will probably "start" my dinner at 3 in the afternoon!

Thanks so much for the info and the site.  I DO remember trying this ages ago, (25 years?) and I don't know if I made it or not but I do remember buying beets and eating ice cream on a diet!  That's probably what did me in, the ice cream on day 2, back then I don't think you coud get Ben and Jerry's pints and I KNOW I couldn't afford it so I probably bought a cheap brand of 1/2 gallon and ate the whole that night!!  lol!

This time we will make it because we all have each other!

Re: Help! ~~ Questions on the "Three Day Diet"!~~

Well according to the link you can switch out cottage for tuna, right? So you'll be cool!

I was thinking of buying Weight Watcher Ice Cream like Sally did but the website is very specific about FULL FAT Ice cream!  Oh well...got to follow the rules!  Tee he!

I wonder if custard would be okay.  It's soft serve ice cream with 6 times the buttefat!  There's a custard place behind the house and that way I can take 1/2 cup out of my husband's TRIPLE scoop cup!!??   Better not, that could instill a binge later on!

That is so cool that you lost 7 pounds!  How are you doing so far this week on the CSD?

Re: Help! ~~ Questions on the "Three Day Diet"!~~

Thanks for all the info everyone!!

Some of those substitutions sound great - I am loving the thought of having ben & jerrys ice cream - I didn't think of that as an option! Yummy!!

sallys & omgirls weight loss on the plan sound really great - I'm still in shock that you can lose weight eating ice cream - it sounds bizarre but I like it!!!

Thanks again & good luck to you all starting on Monday!! I'll be behind you as I'm probably starting Thursday, but do keep posting how it's going & your weight loss on the plan!

Speak soon!

Re: Help! ~~ Questions on the "Three Day Diet"!~~

The ice cream really scares me though, I don't even drink whole milk, EVER!

It's good if you start Thurs. because you be so well informed from all of us chatterboxes!   Also you'll see by our results if it's worth it or not.

Are you in the midst of the CSD right now?  I get everyone's days mixed with all this 'posting' activity!

Too bad you couldn't start the 3DD on Sunday, then you'll be all skinny for your sweetie!  I think my hubbie is starting to think I'm crazy with all the weird stuff I've been eating lately and then I showed him what was in store for next week!   But he's really supportive and he knows it makes me much happier to be at a good weight!

Re: Help! ~~ Questions on the "Three Day Diet"!~~

I got round the meals by having a late breakfast 11 am as I don't normally eat breakfast then lunch mid afternoon then dinner in the evening! By the way don't get too hung up on the cheese when you weigh it out it is such a small amount!!!!!! I was really looking forward to it as cheese is my downfall when dieting cos I love it! Ben and Jerrys ice cream now that sounds tempting! When I was in America every night we used to go to the ice cream parlour and choose our icecreams ,topping etc... mmmmmmm. [I can't remember the name of it now but they are everywhere thank goodness they are not everywhere here in the UK or I'd never diet]

Re: Help! ~~ Questions on the "Three Day Diet"!~~

Sal- there are two different versions of this diet, tho ver similar.  One has real vanilla ice cream each night and the other has low fat yogurt day 1, low ice cream day 2 and full fat ice cream day 3.    Which one do you think we should do?  Omgirlie lost 7 lbs. with full fat ice cream!  I just hate to even have that stuff around but maybe that's one of the keys to it's success?

What does everyone think for the 3DD?  What route sounds better and what should we do on Monday?
