I'm getting ready to start this diet tomorrow and have a would like to find out if it's ok to drink 1 diet soda per day? If it's not I'll give it up but it's my coffee early in the morning. Feeling like I can do this and hoping to get lots of support. My email is kashia_39@yahoo.com and my names Tammy

I'm sorry I can't give you any tips for it but I do know that I am going to try my best at it. I am a 39 yr old male. I am @ 234 lbs and I will let you all know how we progress through this. Thank you all for the support.

Good luck with the diet, Tammy. How was day 1 for you? Day 1 was one of my favorites, because I love to eat fruit. Posting also helps to keep us on track, I definately need the accountability and this proves to be helpful to me. Hope all is well. Let me know how you're doing, ok. Take care.

Tammy, go ahead and a have a diet coke it shuld be fine! Don't drink liters of it, it's best to fill up on water but a couple cans is fine. I'm on day 2 today and have a cup or two of coffee every day and I ha a diet Root Beer yesterday, as I have in the past and it hasn't affected me adversely as far as I know.
Good Luck and keep us posted, same goes for you wallydawg and wife! Day 2 and day 3 are so much easier than day 1 (for me) so it should be all downhill from here! Getting through tha first day is the worst ... and we did it!
Going to put my butternut squash in the oven now for breakfast!! Can't wait!

Hi Twilight or anyone else whose doing this, so far it's going ok. I started this morning and have everything prepared. Actually feel pretty full. People at work are involved so this makes it nice. I'm starting around 219llbs(forgot to weight this morning) and hoping to get down to 170 which is realistic for me. Been along time since I've even thought of that #. Keep in contact and glad your doing well

How is the diet going for the Tammy and the couple starting it also? Are you making it through each day? Hope so. Keep posting, curious how things are going. Tammy-that's nice that even people at your work know and may even join in, huh. You're on Day 2 right? Hope you are doing well. Keep in touch.

Hey Tammy- I've done the CSD about twice now, 2nd time I really shouldn't count cause I didn't give it my all. Right now I'm on the 3DD, doing it back to back for the week. I like the diet, as I eat unlimited fruit, that's my little change to the diet. Doesn't seem to affect any weight loss. Anyways, glad you're doing well. Keep up the good work. The posting really helps, huh.

Hi Barb -
Do you mean that you do the 3dd with unlimited fruit? I was just looking at it, and thinking that that would be the easiest way for me to stick with it. Have you done it coming immediately off the CSD?
Offline
Hey SG-I've never done the 3DD right after the CSD, I've always taken somewhat of a break from any of them. Yeah I eat fruit basically when I want to on the 3DD. It probably doesn't amount to a whole lot, but I definately eat more than what they allow. I love smoothies, so I make those a lot on it, helps me in the evening, I've even substituted eating a smoothie instead of the ice cream. Are you currently on the CSD?

I just finished CSD and I'm looking to keep my motivation up. And I sooo love fruit - smoothies are a great idea!
How would you rate 3dd compared to CSD?

OK , HI ALL! I just started today almost time to go home from work that scares me. I have a hard time at night with any diet. I have done this diet before but it has been a long time and many pounds ago. I am at my heaviest now and have been going to Weight Watchers. I am having a hard time sticking to it (WW) so I thought I'd do this and if I can do this I can do WW core program with no problem. I actually drank black coffee today I never would have believed that. Well I will check back in later to keep myself busy, with out food.

I lost double the weight on the 3DD. I actually thought it was just a fluke, so this is my testing time. This is the 2nd time I've been on it, lost 4 pounds the 1st time, so we'll see how it goes. Tomorrow will be my weigh day, I'll keep you posted.
jwood-Just keep getting on the posts for encouragement and typing time. Makes the night go by faster, I'm a nighttime eater also so I know how hard it can be. It seems like I get online and before I know it an hour has gone by. Keep strong!!!

Hi All, this is my first time doing the CSD and I saw a couple of posts about drinking black coffe. I love my coffee in the morning with creamer and sugar. Is it ok to drink coffee as long as it isnt sweetened or lightened with creamer?

zucado123,
I love my coffee too, with skim milk, usually. But I just finished the CSD early this week for the 1st time and, based on the advice on this forum, I just drank a cup of black coffee every morning and lots of green tea instead. And LOTS of water to compensate.
Also, I treated myself to a small nonfat latte on Banana/Milk day which made me SO happy (and it also satisfied me so much I only ate soup, 3 bananas, and 1 more cup of milk that day.)

Hey 40TOGO --
One diet soda a day should be okay. Everyone is different but there are a lot of people who drink 1 diet soda a day on the CSD and still lose weight. But I avoid it because of something I read here by someone very smart which I'll try to paraphrase:
One of the main goals of the CSD is that you train yourself to eat healthy, to enjoy the taste of simple fruits and vegetables and to get the cravings for additives and artificial sugars, flavors, etc. out of your system. Diet soda is just chemicals and water, so by indulging in it, you aren't totally going to get those cravings out of your system.
But if it makes it easier to stick to the diet otherwise, by all means, enjoy your one diet soda!
Hope this helps.

Im new to this diet, but not new to dieting, I have been a very strict dieter to the low-carb life-style for almost 3 years, I lost on that diet 135 pounds, when I first started it within 4 months , and it came off pretty quickly, I maintained that for all this time, problem is when I tried to bring myself back to reality I found myself gaining some weight back, I have been sucessfull for those 3 years, but was becoming very ill, so I thought I better step up my game plan and learn something new.
I'm not happy gaining any back and learning to eat differently is making it hard to not gain, anyone knows fruits and veggies are something this diet didnt allow to much of, so having this seems to be a healthy change but yet a challenging one.
I'm eager to try this, and to me this will be much healthier than were I have been for the last few months, giving up coffee, and the diet drinks will not be easy, but its just another leap in a new start of control that I have so often battled over the years.
I'm new to this forum and hope to learn from some of you new ideals and gain new friends and support that I know all diets need....happy to join..

That was with very strict dieting and walking 4 to 7 miles a day. I have taught myself that diet for so long coming off of it is difficult and I struggle very hard to learn to eat a different way, now I have picked up about 20 pounds I dont want, dealing with sugar levels gets to be not only unhealthy but dangerous after so long.
and this yo-yo dieting is making it worse:bounce:..lol
