I am excited to loose the weight, anxious to weight myself next tuesday, but holy buckets. My starting weight is 190. My goal in 140. How long will this take?!?!?! Any hoo, just looking for some encouragement. Don't really have anybody to back me up on this one. My husband is trying to pep me up, but he really sucks at it. "honey, i love that you are trying to look like you use to, but is it worthe it?" OK, thanks allot buddy! Maybe i can get better feed back from all you wonderful dietiers out there! thanks!

You can do it! Today will be your toughest day, it is for me anyway! Yesterday was my day 1 and every time I do day 1 I go to bed super early so I won't cheat!! Once I get past that it gets easier for a couple days, but we are no saints, don't get me wrong, it's not easy to do it and the only person who can get you through this YOU! My first time I just kept saying: "It's only 7 days, I can do it!"
I think the very first tim you do it it's best to not alter the diet, but after that you will know what days are best for you. I haven't been able to do the banana day since the first time, but I MAY try to this time, or just day 3 again. The first 3 days are the key in MY opinion. If you HAVE to weigh yourself during the diet do it after the first 2 or 3 days and then just wait till the end, or just wait till the end all together. For me, days 1 - 3 is where all my weight comes off so I could just do those days over and over again but the other days must be there for a reason...potassium, protein, etc.
Anyway good luck and please keep posting and asking questions, this site is really wonderful and supportive and without these great people, I would NEVER have gotten through one day!!
So I'm going to put my butternut squash in the oven now for breakfast!!
Can't Wait!!

Lizmboo You can do it, it is not easy but remember it is only 7 days. I am on day six of my seven. for me I don't like to start on a monday it is too easy for me to cheat when the weekend rolls around
So I always start on an odd day of the week. I too am not a fan of day 4 and repeat day 3 again. I do have a bit of a problem with day 5 since I am not a beef eater but I made some mock chili using ground turkey and that got me though
Just set you mind to the 7 days, mark them off on the calendar as you go, record your food in a diary or post it on the calendar, these are just some tips that help me keep going. I also put my weight on the calendar at the begining of each 7 day cycle.
Unlike twilight I tend to lose my weight the last few days so I don't go near my scale until the morning of day 8.
Good Luck and stay strong

Well Nancy, I am so anxious to hear how you do! God, it seems like a long time doesn't it? Like weeks when you had your first day! I am so proud of you for not slipping! You are defnatley on the right track to get that excess weight off that you put back on. I am going thriough the same thing actually. I lost 50 pounds on Weight watchers and kept it off for 7 years! Then due to some medical issues, hospitalization, 2 surgeries, and sitting on my butt unable to get any exercise whatsoever, I put about 30 pounds of it back on! I could kick myself! It took 9 months to lose the original weight and I gained almost all of it back since December! So I just want to get at least 20 pounds off as fast as I can, and then really stick to my points. Actually when I was really strict with WW but would have a "pig out" day (as we ALL do!) I would eat cabbage soup and just veggies the next day and it would come off. Or I would do it the day before I had to "weigh in", so Cabbge Soup has always been a part of my life it seems! I remember trying it about 20 years ago but never did the 7 day thing, just ate cabbage soup every day to keep full!
Anyway, make sure to report the loss the minute you arise on day 8! I can't wait!!!

Hi, I just started the diet for the first time myself. Someone gave me a good idea yesterday and I tried it last night. I used a whole head of cabbage by mistake so mine was really cabbagey ???? I was already sick of it yesterday at lunch. She told me to blend some of the cabbage. I took about half the soup and blended it in two bunches. It was much easier to eat today. It actually tasted better. More like tomato soup. So if you get sick of it, you could try that.

Thanks Twilight for the encourgement, how are you coping today?
nobikini4me Welcome aboard! and those are some great ideas I have tried all differnt ways to eat the soup but my favorite seems to be adding a can of tomatoes with green chili's for an added kick

Also for day 7 you can blend the soup, add more v-8 juice, then add your brown rice to it. It's more like a spanish rice or tomato soup with rice! I may just do day 2 or 3 again instead of day 7, the rice kind of scares me, I know it's good for you but it is still very starchy and high in calories. i love day 3 anyway so I usually use that day when in doubt.
Good Luck
Nancy I'm doing great today! A whole new lease on life! day 1 is over, so I'm on my way!!!!
