Hi everyone!
I'm new to the message board but familiar with it. I've been checking it out and reading various posts for the past few weeks. My mom and dad did the CSD years ago when I was in elementary school (I'm almost 23 now) and the successes I've read from all of you have motivated me to give it a try!
I just made my first batch of soup and I'm ready to start tomorrow!! If there is anyone else that's starting tomorrow too, let me know and we can serve as motivators to one another! I'll post everyday with what I ate that day and my results. I'll weigh myself tomorrow morning and report then! Soooo excited!
Good luck everyone!!

Hey td007,
My wife and I started the diet on Monday (July 30th) too. We need to loose some weight b4 we head out on a cruise in a couple of weeks!
My wife made the soup with quite a bit of spices to mask the cabbage taste so its not too bad!
I started out at 151lbs and she was at 105lbs.
We're both hoping to lose about 6-10 lbs.
Nothing yet thou...
Yesterday afternoon was tough for me since i'm used to eating a heavy lunch.
The evening was tough for her since she craves cheese and chips!
The worst is not having morning coffee (i need sugar and cream in mine)!!
Oh..time for some soup!!
Good luck!

Hey everyone!
I know I shouldn't weight myself EVERYDAY but I've decided I want to each morning when I wake up so that I can track my progress while on the CSD. Here are my results this morning:
Starting weight (Day 1)- 179 lbs.
Day 2- 173.6 lbs.
Weight lost- 5.4 lbs.
I know weight can fluctuate daily based on water and other factors, so this isn't necessarily fat-loss, but I know I'll be able to tell when my clothes start fitting better! I'll keep you all posted!!
Momo- good luck to you and your wife as well! Cruises are AWESOME! Have you ever been on one before? I just returned from a cruise that stopped in the Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Mexico, and Jamaica. I had a really great time! Where is your destination?
I've been doing well so far. No cheats or slip-ups! My mom is a huge coffee drinker, and she put a small amount of skim milk in hers each morning while on the CSD and still lost weight! I think artificial sweetners such as Splenda or Equal are allowed on this diet and can be used in coffee. Can anyone confirm this for sure, because I'm not 100% on that one.
Nancy- good luck to you too!
Have you done the CSD in the past? If so, what were your results?
Talk to you all soon!

wow...5.4lbs in one day...that's great motivation at least!
I think we both weighed 1.5lb less this morning, but like you said, i don't put too much value to that until the clothes start fitting well and (in my case) the belly looks smaller!!
Would be great to know if we can use sweetners with the coffee. Any substitutes will do!
I haven't been on a cruise yet, but my wife has and because all we will be doing is eating, we decided that this diet needs to be done now!!
BTW, how will you make you potato tonight? (wouldn't think i would be craving a baked potato this badly..lol)
Not sure how we can "legally" dress it...
Ciao...may the strength be with all of us!

T -- those results in one are wonderful that is like what I would lose in an entire week:)
I was on this diet off and on last spring and summer and lost a total of 30 pounds but alas...stress and old eating habits found there way back to me and I have gained it all back and a few more...the wonderful yo-yo effect.
So I have made the commentment to myself I am going to use CSD to jump start myself and slowly change my eating habits to something that I can live with. I did find you really need to give yourself a break after a full week. I did two weeks back to back and the second week I only lost 2 pounds. When I spaced them out I got much better reuslts
Starting weight tomorrow morning TBA LOL
momo76--ah potato night, you know you can have 1/2 for lunch and 1/2 for dinner. I usually used Spray marg. and steamed some brocolli on top. Other times I have used fat free dressing all very very good

Momo!! Beware of the cruise food! It is AMAZING and you really want to indulge in everything!! I was able to practice good self-control for the first 3 days and stuck to salads and all the fresh veggies and fruits only the Carribean can offer... but then I couldn't take it any longer!!! I gained 10 lbs. on my cruise! I think I may have over-done it a bit, but that cruise is part of the reason I'm here today!
Then again- it's only a week's vacation and some of that food you will never eat again- so dig in!!! One week of the CSD is worth the week of amazing dishes you will have on board!! Conrgats on your weight loss so far! Isn't it great to see results so fast? I've also been working out each day and it really adds to the motivation of eating foods that are good for you too! Keep it up!!
And my potato- I eat it with margarine (I don't use butter) and salt. Mmmm... tonight it was deeeeelish!
Talk to you tomorrow!!

Hi Nancy!
I don't think I'm going to do the CSD 2 weeks in a row then. I'm sure I will be sick of the soup by then. What kind of diet did you maintain between weeks? I'm scared if I don't have something structured, I will slip up and gain the weight back (and maybe more) in my week off! I've given into emotion binge eating frequently the last few months (adding to my recent weight gain) and I'm afraid I might do that!!! As long as I restrict myself to a "diet" (like this one) I think I'll be ok. Any suggestions?? I'm a big fan of Lean Cuisine meals. I've thought about eating those for lunch and dinner on my week off and adding a side salad loaded with veggies if the meal isn't enough. Although, today I got really full quickly and found it hard to finish my soup... so maybe those would be enough. Anyways, good luck starting tomorrow! Be sure to report your results!! I'm excited to weigh-in in the morning!! And let me know how that weight tracker works for you!!

Hello to all! I started the diet on Monday as well. I have coffee w/splenda in the morning. Better than nothing right? I felt guilty for putting butter on my potatoe this evening. Should I worry?
Also, are sugar free throat lozenges okay? I have had a scratchy throat all day. Anyway, my soup came out great but the vegetables all day today made it a little harder. And I love veggies!!!! Oh well, tomorrow will be better with the fruit and veggies. No potatoe though
Let's help eachother keep motivated. My fiance has the lovely habit of baking chocolate chip cookies in the evening. How nice for him.
Let's hope I can keep this up alllllllll week.

Hey all,
Last night was not too bad other than the soup - we dread eating it!
We bbq'd some seasoned veggies along with the baked potato.
Can't wait for Fri - meat day!
My wife is down to 103lbs (net loss of 3), while i am still at 149lbs (net loss of 2).
But i'm gonna wait it out, if anything at least my system is getting healthy foods!!
I'm staying away from coffee or juices, and trying to hit the 8-10 glasses of H20 everyday.
I was going to workout at the same time, but i feel drained by the evening time, so i decided to introduce that next week when i go back to my regular diet.
I'm sure most of us feel like quitting, but this is what its all about, if we give up now then the regret and failure will bring us down even further...so stick to the diet and tell yourself that it's all worth it.
I guess concentrating on something you want real bad is a good motivating tool...fitting into those expensive jeans, wearing a shirt without your belly sticking out, or even impressing others. Best part is getting compliments! Whatever it takes.
Have a good day!

Hi all,
I started Monday as well. I love this diet! I feel so energized and clean.
Does anyone notice that sleeping is weird. Whenever I do this diet, not only do I dream about food but I don't sleep very well. And the body aches - I wonder what those are from. It's all worth it in my opinion. Can anyone else relate?
Pineapple today is yummy! Sauteed mushrooms with scallions and garlic are wonderful too.
Oh and there's no way I couldn't have coffee with skim in the mornings. We still gotta live, right???

OH MY GOSH EVERYONE! I made a HUGE boo-boo today!!
My weigh-in for today, Day 3, was 174. That's a total loss of 4 lbs. so far. For some reason I was really discouraged to see that I'd gained since my weigh-in yesterday (yeah, I know right... a whole .6 lbs???) and I know that weight fluctuates each day! Well- long story short... I've eaten 9 small choc. chip cookies today!!! NINE! That is soooo many and I don't even know why I did it! I wasn't even hungry! It's like I just lost hope and I don't even know why! I worked out extra hard today to try to make up for it and I'm going to squeeze in 30 more minutes of cardio tonight after work as well. Please tell me this won't screw up my whole week! Can I just continue on from here and still get results? I'm really dreading weighing in tomorrow since I'm afraid that silly binge just put on what I've lost so far! Ahhhh... I just had to be honest and vent out what I did! Congrats and great job to everyone else for hanging in there though! I'm bound and determined to not let this happen again! STAY STRONG EVERYONE!!!!
Talk to you all soon!

Don't let the little slip ups ruin the entire day just move on and eat more soup.
Td007 you asked what I did inbetween weeks. I still ate the soup for lunch and if I was still hungry I would have a fruit or veggie snack, for breakfast usually some fruit and dinner was a sensible dinner, a little protien with lost of steamed veggies. and of couse that nightly snack usually was air popped popcorn or belive it or not dill pickles (and I am not pregernat lol) I would lose another pound or two during the week. The hardest for me is giving up my wine with dinner
guess we all have our "vices"

Hey all,
How's everyone doing???
Day 4 is getting started! Not bad...half way mark already!
I feel pretty good...no major urges, thank god.
I lost one more pound, so i'm down to 148 (net loss of 3lbs).
Don't worry td007, my wife did the same thing last night. She was craving something sweet so she ate a quater of an ice pop! I tried to stop her but man...she couldn't resist.
Just keep your head up and forget it ever happened and continue with the regiment.
Good luck all.

Hey everybody!
After a dissapointing day yesterday, I woke up to a day 4 weight of 173 lbs!
My lil binger (kinda big in my opinion!) didn't affect me much! Thanks for the encouraging words! They helped!! So for the week, I'm down 6 lbs! Yay! I had an awesome banana shake for bfast this morning! Banana day is thus far my fave! I just blended a frozen banana and skim milk and I was all set. Tomorrow I am going to try a recipe I thought up. I'm sure something like it exsists, but I'm going to stuff a fresh tomato with lean beef and pop it in the oven. I think it will go nicely with the soup!
I have to get to work, but awesome job everyone!

Hey all! Just reporting in for Day 5, as I'm about to go to bed...
I weighed 171lbs. today!!!!!!!! That means I'm down a total of 8lbs for the week!! The number on the scale doesn't matter as much as how I feel and look in my clothes. I noticed a more significant difference today than I have the rest of the week. I've been hitting up the gym alot too, doing 35 minutes of cardio on the elliptical and swimming 500 yards along with light weights everyday. This is my normal workout routine, but with my weight-gain and everything, I lost motivation to workout. This CSD has really given me a structured way to get back in shape, and I'm LOVING IT! Sounds as though everyone else is doing awesome as well!
Keep it up and stay in touch!
