they say it is just the beef/chicken and tomoatoes and soup, but I always had some of the vetggies and it did not seem to hurt at all

tmarion, I did csd last spring and summer and lost down to 150, I did not weigh myself when I first started but I would guess overall I lost around 30pounds, over the winter I gradually went back to my poor eating and gained back up to 173.
Since Aug 6 I have been back on csd (twice now with sb inbetween) and have lost 9.5-11 pounds. My weight will go up and down about 1.5 pounds all the time, it happens to be up right now.
I am still on sb so this is my second week at phase 1 and I will continue it through sept 15 and start csd again on the 16th.
My goal is to be at 140 by the first week in November

Hi nancy_mrn...I plan on doing CSD for the seven days...then the 3DD...then SB...then start all over again with this rotation....which would be a 17 day deal. I was just wondering how you like the SB diet?
I imagine it is a nice break with alot of variety in a different way...things we can't have on the CSD or the 3DD. I do like my meat...and as I understand it...you are really not into meat...but I like the idea of meat everyday and an egg once in awhile...........I have the South Beach Diet book, but never used it...it's been laying around for years!

Hi Brookside~
I am on my second week of sb but I have to say I have managed to "cheat" each weekend so the results are a bit clouded. I do not lose weight like some on this forum dropping 6-10 pounds a week but am happy with my results and am realistic with my eating choices
Since Aug 6th I have lost 11 pounds, twice I had gained 1.5 pounds back and had to try and lose it again
btw I too had the sb diet book laying around for years and this is the first time I read it. what I miss is the fruit, ---no fruit on phase 1--
I will start the csd again on the 16th

Hi nancy_mrn...slow weight losses tend to stay off a lot better then fast weight loss....plus....the body adjusts to it, and skin tone is better....if a person loses too fast...ya get a flabby body!...I noticed the no fruit on phase 1 too...oh well...still in all...more daily variety...eggs...cheese...meat protein...beans...lentils...and peanut butter.............sounds good to me!

yes the varity is very nice, the biggest challenge is taking food to work, some of the recipes don't work well reheated in a mircowave. but tomorrow for me it will be an egg beaters, onion, and pepper omlet, celery for snack, then egg drop soup (with egg beathers again) cheese or turkey snack -- haven't decided then dinner with the family
of course no rice, bread or pasta, lots of veggies and some herbs

No rice, bread or pasta!
....oh well, can't have everything.....but I'll take the omelets, a little cheese and the MEAT......I would imagine it is easier to feed your family when you are on the SB...sinse there is more variety and all can eat the same meal............

yes it is easier, I stick to a bit of protien and stir fry some veggies or steam them and it works fine
My goal was to lose down to 140 by the first week in nov. I started aug 6th and am now as of today down 11 pounds so that nov deadline does not look like I will make it (at 162 now) but that is ok. I would rather lose slow and keep it off than lose fast like last year and put it back on

Yey....I think it might be a bit much to lose 22# by then....but you'll probably lose at least another 11# and that would be a total of 22#...maybe 25# in all....and that ain't bad!
Offline
well we will see! LOL I am less concered about the actually number I just want to be a nice size 8? by then we will see
5 years ago I never weighted over 125 execpt when I was pregnant...god bless medication, age and pre-menopause

Yes...I too am less concerned with numbers ....I'm more concerned how the clothes fit and that the sizes don't get bigger. You know...as we get older, I'm not sure it's realistic to think that we will be slim and trim like we were at 23 or even 30 yrs old.....even pleasingly plump is really OK with me...I just want to be healthy and not all bloated up as one gets when #'s are gained, or one carrys too much extra baggage....one thing this diet does is unbloat the body and that's what makes ya feel good!

Hello matiz...and WELCOME
... haven't looked up the SB website yet...but I have the South Beach Diet book...and everything's explained in the book. I believe if you just went on the internet and looked up SB or South Beach Diet you would come up with what your looking for. Actually...since we have my husband's High School Reunion coming up on Sept 29th....I have decided to do the 3 day diet (3DD) after this one...then go back to the CSD...then 3DD...then...CSD and so forth up to the reunion. Afterwards I will do a rotation of CSD...3DD...SB for some time...which would repeat every 17 days. I am on day 6 now...so I will start 3DD on Wed, the12th.....if anyone's interested...on info on the (3DD), here is a link which explains it..........http:/www.everydiet.org/3_day_diet.htm........I must repeat myself again, by saying that the cabbage soup diet alone is not a long term diet...do healthy eating in between and then come back to it. I'm even pushing it by doing it along with the 3DD for the almost 3 weeks until the reunion....but I MUST fit into the outfit I am planning to wear!

thanx Nancy, I don't mind Banana and milk I guess i'll try the shake. I live in Norway and I don't know if we have Chai Tea, can i use something else?
Offline
Hey Alone in the diet zone.
Where in Norway are you from?
I love bananas, but am not to sure myself about all the milk. I generally don't drink milk at all. Have you tried perhaps leaving the chai tea out and just doing milk, bananas, ice and some vanilla? That should work too.

I am from South Africa, Johannesburg. My best friend dated a girl from Tromso for a bit. I'm 21 and have been overweight nearly all my life. My best friend pushed me into enterting this "Summer Body Comp." which ends on the 2nd of November. This is my fourth week on it and I have now dropped about 9 k.gs. From the first week I went on the three day diet (3DD) which was okay, but wasn't too what I thought it was, so I have moved onto the CSD. I am now sitting on 65.3 k.g.s and my goal weight is 56k.gs or near about there. When I was eighteen, I peaked my highest weight This will now be my third year of on and off dieting to lose the weight. I managed to drop a lot but then had a motorcycle accident and put the majority back on
I want to see what my body looks like when I get down there and as I have never been thin before it is going to be a rather interesting expierence.
We are currently on the same times, until that daylight saving thing comes back. You will then be an hour behind me.
