Is it normal to have severe diarhea? I wasn't sure if that was the norm or just me reacting. Also, when should i step on the scale to see how much i have lost? I really want to lose 20 lbs in about a month. Any tips for success

.......I would say no...but you will have loose bowel movements because of all the fiber you are eating. ...especially if you are not used to so much fiber. Some weigh themselves everyday...but I think it is better to weigh in at the end of your 7th day....of course...that's my opinion. Many if not most members seem to weigh themselves often...as much as everyday...that's up to you. Sometimes when there is no loss...one gets discouraged and starts to cheat or drop out because they think...what's the use...nothings happening....

Thanks for your response. I really hope this works for me. I am committed to the diet and i do exercise. I am currently at about 190 and want to really get to 160ish. How long have you been on the diet and how much have you lost. Is it unreasonable to want to lose that much?

Hi Karrmr...........I start my 6th day tomorrow....I have not weighed myself....I go by how I feel and how my clothes fit, not the numbers on the scale....but....that's me. I can tell I have lost. No, it is not unreasonable to want to lose that much...but this is a jumpstart type of diet that you really shouldn't expect to lose all your weight on. If you read through some of the posts you will see that people go on this diet a week...go off onto some other diet a week or two and come back to this again. Many go on the south beach diet inbetween. You will get a lot of info by digging into the posts that are on this site......That is kind of what I did and I got a lot of ideas and info that way....................I'm sure others will post info to your questions with additional info...good luck to you!

ok with that said I jump off my soap box and say whoo hoo welcome again!
some lose quickly some don't everyone is differnt I am a slooooow loser only a pound or two a week, others can drop 10+. Make your goals realistic and post often, if you start to feel discourged let us know and we will give you a horror story that makes yours look good LOL and I bet it will be the truth too

Does anyone know if you allowed low fat milk in the tea on Day One? I didnt think to cross check this before but I guess out of habbit I drank it that way (no sugar), hope its ok, oh dear!

hi to day is my first day . Ive tried this diet in the past and i know it work s. i want to jump start my motabolism . so here i am once again my wieght is 233.8 i hope to loss 20 lbs by x-mas. Good luck Vero, you can do it. Just exercise and drink lots of water and eat healthy, you can do it. I know a guy that works with me and in a month he lost 30lbs, so you can do it too.

matiz.......don't worry about it...just go on from here...it takes a few days and some reading of other's posts to feel comfortable in what you are doing...one gets more confident as the days go by.....

vero if you stick to csd and watch what you eat on the off weeks you will meet your goal of 20 pounds gone!
The first week is always the hardest, make sure you take a break between weeks. So of us do south beach some just cut back and continue eating healthy what ever is going to work for you
matiz- if you are doing the "new" csd you are allowed 8oz of skim milk a day or a yogurt but not both

Hi Nancy-mrn....Is that the only difference between the two?? I have not seen this new CSD...where can one find it? Are most on the old diet or are they switching over to the new one...I have been following the one outlined on this website.

Hey karrrmr....I think this happens more times then we all know with the members...it's not realistic that EVERYONE is going to stop drinking...just because they are on a diet,....or that everyone's going to stop drinking coffee because it's not listed on the diet (I for one will not give up my coffee in the morn....and I have not for any diet I have been on...of course there are no calories in coffee...) Don't get discouraged...forget about it and go on from here...you shouldn't drink, and do your best not too, and for Gods sake....just don't drink the whole six pack!

I started the csd today and I love it. I think the soup is fantastic, although I am sure i won't be saying that next week. I have been to the bathroom 4 times. I was unsure about the safeness of this diet at first(I used to work @ LA weight loss), but after cleaning out my system today I think the diet must be pretty good for you. Atleast as a healthy way to detox.
I weigh 145 and I would like to get to 135/ I have been there before and it is my ideal weight.
Just finished dinner and I am trying to get motivated to go upstairs and do an hour walk on DEMAND!!
I hope to have some great discussions with you all and that we will all be celebrating soon!!

brookside, the best i can recall that is really the only differnce and a tbl of low-fat, or no-fat dressing, and use any herb or spices you like
so the new csd is follow the same plan, and add 8oz serving of fat free milk or yogurt, and the fat-free dressing

Hi Everyone, i am now on day 3 of the diet have lost 9 lbs. but i'm getting concerned about this diet. Initially my problems were loose bowel movements and now i'm not having any. I'm drinking lots of water but is this normal?
