Re: a buddy needed

Hey Goingonacruise and Tharley. I hope your diets are both going well. I have chosen to exercise during my csd, but there isn't anything that says you must. As the calorie intake is so low I don't do any massive exercise, I merely do some ab work and then I walk. When I say walk, I mean that when I go shopping, I do stairs instead of elevators and well shopping centres are big here, so a lot of walking is done. Moreover, I also do stretches to help my skin go shrink and not end up being flabby and stretched.

I have hit day three today, it's nearly finished. On my first day I quite a bit of fruit and two bowls of soup. There were often times where I felt hungry too, but then I realized it was my body digesting and becomming used to the new way of eating.

I hope you all do wonderfully and that you lose the weight you wish to.

Re: a buddy needed

Hey Husky!
Congrats on doing well so far! I was contemplating walking the path in the park behind our house. I like to ride my bike too, but with the cals so low on this diet, I don't expext to go for really long. I am hopeful to lose 3 lbs this week. More would be great, but I don't want to set expectations to high as I don't ever seem to lose quickly. Hopefully you have better luck with that! Thanks for responding :-)

Re: a buddy needed

Hey!

I have set a goal for myself, but it is over the long run. I would like to lose at least 3/4 k.gs during this csd, so roughly 7/8 lbs. Today is day 3 and sadly I noticed no change in my weight today. However yesterday morning I noticed a 1.8lbs drop. So your goal is definitely not unreasonable. I reckon everything above what I want to lose will be a bonus!

My personal opinion when it comes to exercising is that you need to be very considerate of what you are consuming. Seeing that the diets we are on are very low cal, pushing yourself will only be punishing your body. Bike rides are good though. I have heard of several people doing the CSD doing it!

Keep strong.

Backatcha...

1.8 LBS is a great start. Don't be too discouraged about today, I bet you will have a big smile on you're face tomorrow. I have also seen that other people have done some exercise, which is promising. I am vegetarian and am glad to see that people have substituted veggie burgers for their beef days. Is it strange to be excited about this? I am! How's the weather in your neck of the woods? It's cool and breezy here in eastern PA.

Re: a buddy needed

Hey,

I'm in South Africa, Johannesburg actually, so my weather is slightly different. Nearly the evening now (glad this day is ending). Been overcast most of the week, will probably rain tonight or tomorrow, who knows.

Hopefully I would have dropped some more tomorrow, but after much thought, I'm not surprised I didn't drop much yesterday. I mean 200 grams is barely anything to talk about, but yes okay.

Should have exercised today. But I went to a local market and did a lot of walking so I reckon that's a good substitute.

I used to be a vegetarian. For quite some time. When I first started dieting I stopped eating meat and drop 25+ kilos in three or so months with it and strangely enough I ate loads of junk food. I think my body is punishing me now smiley-smile

How has your day been?

Husky,

12:16 pm here, just after lunchtime. Lazy day.. I just finished another quarter at school and have a week off now. It is strange going back to school after so many years!
Walking is excellent, shopping is theraputic too!lol!  As far as being a veg... I have been since 1991. I stayed very slim until I met my hubby 6 years ago, then became a junk food junkie. Packed on 20+ since then, and have tried countless diets with little or no results. I am hopeful this will work and love the buddy idea! Am I the only one who keeps clothes that USED to fit?! Maybe I can get into some of them next week... Anyway, hope you have a great night and keep up the good work!

Re: a buddy needed

Hehe. I have never been thin before. Literally never. So they only clothes that I have kept that "used" to fit are way to big anyway. ~laugh~ But nontheless when I was sixteen I was given this pair of jeans for my birthday. Back then I weighed roughly 78 kgs and this pair of jeans would fit the average skinny girl. They were like size 4's for you or something and to this day I have kept those jeans and have sworn to myself that I will one day fit into them comfortably. The last time I tried them on, I couldn't get them up. I'm sure they will fit now, but have been to scared to try them on. Maybe after the CSD is finished. I wish I could go back to being a vegetarian, but with this day and age and the lifestyle on this side it would be so impractical. I barely have time to cook anything so junk food, or "quick" food is generally the best option.

Re: a buddy needed

OMG! size 4... it sounds as though you have lost a bit before the csd. I woild love to be in my size 9's comfy right now!! I WAS in 4/5 when I met my hubby..... I saved some of those and some dresses. I know what you mean about the quick and easy meals, we were eatting out all the time for quite a while. I recently started actually cooking again and that has helped. We also have 2 boys, 13 and 9, so snacky type food is always lurking in the cabinets! I have found my willpower though, so something has to give, right? I think trying on those 4's will be a great trophy at the end of your week. I am rooting for you! btw.. how many pounds are 78 kg?

Re: a buddy needed

My peak weight was 86kgs (190lbs), 78kgs (172lbs). Right now I am sitting at 145 and my goal is to be at 125/127 lbs by November 2nd. Since being on the CSD I have lost 4lbs, most of which dropped off today and on my first day. Tomorrow day 4, unfortunally I am meant to put weight back on, so let's see.

I think for me, I have just become so fed up with being fat and not looking how I want to and in sense, because of it, I have become fanatical about weight loss, so much so that I was considering becoming a professional dietician.

I thank God I do not have kids yet. I just don't think I would have any sort of time to actually just deal with me. How are you finding the diet?

Re: a buddy needed

Wow. you should be SO proud! your weight loss is fantastic! I am doing well today, not too hungry, I ate 2 bowls of soup so far. Night time is my absolute worst time of the day, so I'm a little skeptical. I am saving my fruits until then so I can just munch. I am sitting at 139 right now and would love to see 125 at some point. Why Nov 2?

Re: a buddy needed

My best friend convinced/forced/etc/etc me into entering a summer body contest that will end on November the 2nd. Currently we're into the fourth week and I have dropped 18/19lbs since the start of it. I have, for the last three years, been batttling down my weight and when this contest came up I thought "why the hell not". What's that saying, "Now is a better time than never"...so I went immediately into diets. I did the 3DD (Three Day Diet) for the first three weeks and watched every single thing that went into my mouth. The first time I did it, I lost almost 9lb on the first week, but put most of it back on with silly things. Since then I have managed to drop and keep it off and lose a bit more. Anyway, so yes, Nov. 2nd is the dealine. So far I am winning, which is good. But I've stopped thinking of it as a competition and it's become more a personal thing for me to do. Hoepfully I'll have lost my needed weight. As I said before I haven't been thin before so I don't know what my body can tone down to and still look good. So I am working on 125/127 and I'll see where that will take me. I know with my height 5"6' if I drop below 118 I will be underweight, so I'm just estimating around there.

Fruit day was so easy for me. I love fruit. But day two I missed it so much. Tomorrow I am looking forward to all the bananas and milk smiley-smile

Re: a buddy needed

That contest sounds like fun. Good luck on that too! I have done the 3DD in the past, subbing veggie dogs and burgers for hot dogs / tuna. I only lost 3 lbs on that in the past. I was thinking to go on that after my week on the csd, and then go back on the csd after. Do you think that is too strict, or too much dieting? I am 5ft 3in, so 118/125 is a good weight for me at my age I think. (im 36) we'll see...

Re: a buddy needed

Thank you. 3DD I don't enjoy. But I do it becuase it's quick and 2/3 lbs is better than nothing. I found towards the end that dropping the weight became harder and harder and I would drop more weight following my own eating plan than sticking to a calorie controlled one. Look at it this way. I last more weight eating all bran for breakfast with low fat milk, soup for lunch and potato and chicken for dinner. That shows a lot. Nonetheless 3DD does work to lose weight. I can't stand fish. I actually makes me sick. So what I did was substitute all the tune for low fat cream cheese (lost more doing that too). I never thought of subbing the viennas though, perhaps if I do the diet again I will do that.

I'm actually going to give the SB diet a try straight after this. It sounds reasonable enough and closer to my normal eating plan. I actually wanted to go straight from this diet and onto the 3DD. Hey, if I was assured more weightloss I would just continue the CSD. After all, I'm taking multivitamins and herbs and so forth too. I don't think there is to much dieting, but I'm not a doctor. The only thing I would advise is that if you are going to go from diet to another, make sure the diets are different so that you body does not sink completely into starvation mode and therefore start stacking and storing every possible ounce of fat it can find.

I sure that weight is fine. Have you done a BMI before to show you the ranges of your weight in proportion to your height and skin surface. That gives you a good estimate. ~laugh~ I can talk about this stuff forever. smiley-blush

Re: a buddy needed

sounds like your eatting habits are good at this point wether you are "on a diet"or not! kudos to you :-) My BMI is teetering on 'overweight'. Lo fat cream cheese, hmmm... good idea! I will have to try that too. Right now those banana shakes sound really good lol! can't wait til that day! I don't know, I will have to see how I feel at the end of the week before embarking on the 3DD, I just don't want to open the floodgates to my belly after this week.I can talk about this stuff all day too!lol

Re: a buddy needed

Hehe healthy eating my arse. Go back three months and I was eating junk food almost three times a day. No lies. Then I had an accident and put on so much weight, most that had taken me forever to get off. So I basically put my head down and swore to myself that I would do anything to lose the weight.

I have the shakes tomorrow, or at least the banana day. However this is my first try at the CSD and through all my research (and there has been a lot) I have seen and heard that you put weight on on the fourth day because of all the sugar in the bananas. So instead of dreaming of how I was go to stuff my face (I have been watching those bananas for days) I'm think maybe two or three and then pack myself with soup.

I was such a non believer in this soup. But I promise you it works and I can feel my stomach burning up the fat and digesting all he veg. It's amazing.

When it comes to the 3DD, definitely see how you are feeling. Don't push yourself. If you feel energized, go for it. If you're feeling depleted give your body at least two or so days to recover. What I found is that my body needs at least fours days of junk eating before I can start 3DD again or my body just doesn's lose weight.

Re: a buddy needed

That's interesting about banana day.. maybe because they are heavier (and starchier i think) than most fruits people have an issue... I dunno. I think you're plan is good for you though, as for me I think I'll test the theory smiley-wink I am sure I will get support in my house that day, everyone will want banana shakes (tee hee) Glad you are ok after accident, I know sometimes people have a hard time recouping. I love the soup and even though it is only day 1, I am feeling better already! My body must be tired of junk food... last night  was no help either, I was upset yesterday and my hubby brought 2 huge candy bars home. Needless to say, I ate them! I asked him to just give me a hug to console me next time, I feel bad though cause he's only trying to make me feel better! funny how we turn to food for emotions, isn't it?

Re: a buddy needed

It's so true. I know often enough when I'm miserable or tired I'll want the fatiest and oilest food possible just to make up for the day. I also found that when I am bored or restless I'll eat to pass the day.

The day before I started CSD. I ate my hearts content of fatty foods, I also had a rather heavy alcohol weekend. You know what they say, your body takes the information from the day before to use it on the next day. So essentially if you eat 2500 calories today and then tomorrow only 1000, your body would have made the needed changes to burn off the 2500 it expects you to eat today because you ate it yesterday. So by doing that you lose weight. If it makes any sense. So yes, I figured stuff my fae the day before so that I could lose more then next day...and it worked. I lost 1.8lbs the day later.

From what I've heard it's all the potassium in the bananas. It's one of the highest calorie fruits.

Re: a buddy needed

Well lets see if that heavy eatting the day before works for me too! I would love that. I eat for all sorts of reasons too, but all my friends say how easy it is to lose weight. They think the hard part is keeping it off... I'm just the opposite, I can't lose it to save my life, but if I did I could keep it off I think.

You know for me it's the motivation. If I don't have any then I won't bother doing anything.I can drop easily enough, well sort of easily, but it's the struggle of keeping it off constantly. I must admit, I hate the feeling of watching everthing I eat, of having to cut out all those good nice fatty things. Have you seen this new lazy zone diet, where you eat macdonalds every day? smiley-wub

Re: a buddy needed

I just looked the Lazy Zone Diet up, that was pretty funny! I guess it could work for some people, I personally don't think I would benefit from it, as your friendly vegetarian, plus I'm thinking the calories have got to be way more than the CSD. However, someone on matinence (sp?) may do well and be happy on that diet. What do you think of it?Judging by your smiley guy it has potential? lol!smiley-tongue
