barb - 2007-06-18 06:31:54

I have been really off track lately, so today is start day!!!  I am going to do the 3 Day Diet, I'm going to do it twice, back to back.  I've done it once before and I lost 4 pounds in three days, so I'm really hoping that will happen again.  It's been awhile since I've been on the message boards, but that's so great so many of the same names are on and doing well.

Rottingoak-how are you doing?  How's your exercise routine coming?  Still swimming?

Anyways, I will check in on the other posts, I need all the support I can get and anyone starting today, on whichever diet, PLEASE respond and let's help one another.  This site truly helps to keep me accountable, it's amazing how just knowing other's are dieting out there with you really helps to get you through to the next day.

Continued success everyone.  Take care.

Barb,
Just wanted to say hi and welcome back!  Hope your visit with your mom went well!
There always seems to be someone starting something on a Monday so I'm sure you'll find someone to buddy up with in no time!
Good luck to you!
Mandy

ps.
I'm thinking of doing a stint of the 3dd starting tomorrow, Tuesday.  If I do, I'll let you know.  I know I'll be a day behind you, but still...

barb - 2007-06-18 06:46:12

Hey to you too Mandy.  Thanks for welcoming me back, I did have a great visit with my mom, but have been really off track and have gained 6 pounds.  I can't even say it was because she was here, I did gain while here visit, but that's when I did my first time with the 3 DD and I couldn't believe I lost 4 pounds,  I even ate basically all the fruit I wanted.  Well, she's been gone for a while now and I just can't seem to get my eating under control.  6 pounds is a lot for me,  I really hoping this week to get back to having some will power and not eating late at night, etc.

So are you just trying to decide which one to do next?  I'm glad to hear you lost weight on the 3DD also,  I was skeptical if my 4 pound weight loss was a fluke or what,  but I will be answering my own question this week, huh.  Anyways, let me know which one you start, ok.  Good luck,  where are you at with you weight loss,  how much left...if you want to share.  Take care!!!

36toGoal - 2007-06-18 07:02:24

Hi Barb,
Oh well I still have a long ways to go.  About 32 pounds which means I've only consistantly kept off four pounds since I joined this forum.  I have fluctuated back and forth between five pounds.  I don't know if you remember that I was in a wedding in May, that's why I was trying to lose weight in the first place.  Well, after all of that discipline leading up to the wedding and three months of dieting and a 23 pound loss, I have to say I went a little crazy after that.  I've struggled to get back on track and have been hovering right around 162 for a few weeks now.
I just made my grocery list and am getting everything I need for the 3dd.  It's the best option for me.  And it's good to know that you ate other fruit besides what was on the plan and still lost!
And by the way, I did it twice and lost a pound a day both times.  Sally also did it and lost 3 pounds the first time and 2 the second.  So, I guess it's not a fluke!
Talk to you soon!
Mandy

deionsmom - 2007-06-18 07:10:50

hi barb,

the 3 day diet really works i've lost 9 lbs my guess is mostly water, but when your not on the diet for 4 days you really have to watch what you eat the pounds will come back as fast as they were lost.... im on my second 3 day this time around ....good luck

barb - 2007-06-18 08:12:03

That's still really good Mandy,  and atleast we are getting back on track instead of staying on binges of eating.  The results you gave me from the 3DD are encouraging.  I think it's a pretty reasonable diet and you get results.  I just like that I get a mixture of foods each day.

Deionsmom-Wow, what a weight loss.  That is great.  I know, it seems really easy to put it back on.  Are you finishing up the 3DD now?

Talk to everyone soon.

salamanda - 2007-06-18 08:25:08

Watcha Barb good to see you back on board. You'll have to join us in the June Challenge if you like or do you want to leave it until July let me know?

barb - 2007-06-18 10:24:50

Hey Sally,  Definately will be on board with you all.  It's nice to get back in the swing of things.  I'm still reading some of the posts to see where everyone is at.  It's so nice to be chatting with everyone again.  How are things going for you.  Are you all moved and everything?  How's the weight loss coming, what are you doing now?  Take care ok.  Talk later.

nancy_mrn - 2007-06-18 11:11:12

Let me know how the three day diet goes, I finish my first round of CSD on Wed night and would like to do the three day just after that but not sure if that is the best route for me.

I would like to hear your results

thanks Nancy

barb - 2007-06-18 12:01:31

Hey Nancy, I'll definately keep you informed.  How did you do on the CSD?  I hope it was successful.

Tammy - 2007-06-18 12:10:43

HI, I wanted to find out how your doing on this and when you started. I'm getting ready to start tomorrow 6/19 and really would like support from people who have done this. Let me know how it's going

Thanx

36toGoal - 2007-06-18 12:12:13

Barb, I love the variety of it too.  I look forward to the ice cream every night!  Some people are nervous about it, but hey - If I can lose a pound a day, and have a little icecream then I'm not going to sweat it.  On my last round I cut the apple up into bite size pieces, sprinkled cinnamin on them (cinnamin is a metabolism booster!) and then topped it with the ice cream.  It was so delicious!

Also, last time I put a little mayonaise in with the tuna.  Not a ton, just enough to make it not so dry.  And I still lost.

Oh and Nancy, the first time I did this I did cabbage soup and 3 day diet back to back.  I lost 3 1/2 on 7 straight days of cabbage soup with NO CHEATING.  I lost three pounds on the 3dd.  Then I wondered if it was a fluke and I did the 3dd again after some just regular eating and same thing.  Three pounds.

Anyway, Barb I hope you are having a good day one!  I won't be on line tomorrow, I forgot my hubby took the day off and we'll be running around all day.  But I'll check in with ya Wednesday!

Have a good day everyone!

MARIEL5 - 2007-06-18 17:23:00

Hey Guys,

Just reading up after Jazzercise class. Can anyone give me the menu on the 3DD.

Would love to know what it is so that I might try to do it too.

Thanks Everyone.
Marie'

barb - 2007-06-18 18:04:06

Hey Mandy,  Those are good results.  I'm finishing day 1, can you believe I didn't pick up any ice cream today.  I haven't had my apple yet, so I'll probably eat that with some peanut butter on it, tastes like a carmel apple.  What you did with the apple and all sounds really good, almost like an apple pie, huh.  Yum!!  I agree with the dryness of the meat, I actually substitute canned chicken for the tuna and it's constantly falling off, I might add a little mayo also.  Hope you get all your errands done tomorrow.  We have a busy day also.  Chat soon.

Tammy-I'm glad you'll be starting tomorrow.  Since I'm only on Day 1 we can definately keep each other on track.  I'm going to try hard to do this back to back.  Should be able to because the one thing that helps me get through each day is I eat a lot of fruit.  It didn't seem to affect my weight loss last time so I'll try it again.  Good luck with it and stay in touch.

Marie-I'm not sure how you paste someones post, I'm willing to look into though, but you can google 3 day diet and it comes up with the whole thing.  Let me know though, because I'm willing to try the paste thing, ok, or I could go back and tell you where to find it on a previous post.  Try this, go to the search heading and type in the topic, 3 day diet and see if that brings it up.  Does that make sense?  I think it's a real easy diet, very low calories though.  Good for you for Jazzercising.  My fitness club offers that, since it's extra I just do the other aerobic classes.  One of my favorites is Turbokick, it's really fun.  I sure hope you find the diet, please let me know if I can help if the other things don't work.

rottingoak - 2007-06-18 18:11:47

Barb!! Welcome bacck!! I missed you. I'm not swimming anymore, I'm on the 5 factor diet now (on my last week actually) and it has its individual set of exercises I do. I really feel a difference, despite my pessimism mood last week. and yes you definitely do have to join us on the june challenge. Good for you for pulling through day 1, must keep us updated on how you do!!

barb - 2007-06-18 19:46:12

Marie-I got the link for the 3 day diet, here it is:

http://www.everydiet.org/3_day_diet.htm

I know you'll see the post above first, sorry.  Hope this helps.

Rottingoak-Good to be back, now I MUST keep on track.  Hmm, the 5 factor diet, you've sparked my curiosity.  I'll have to check into that one.  How have you done with it?  Keep me posted, ok.  I will definately be on the June challenge.  I'll probably just take my measurements from when Charito did it earlier, or I may just log my weight weekly.  Good to talk again!!

rottingoak - 2007-06-18 19:56:19

The 5 factor diet started out really great for me and I kinda bummed out week 4. You basically eat 5 meals a day, quite yummy really. 25+ minutes of exercising a day (you can do more if you'd like) I lost about 3.5 inches after the first week. I haven't really measured myself since then. I'm on my 5th week now and I probably lost about 5 lbs so far? It's not much in numbers because you're building quite a bit of muscle. My friend noticed my upper arms being a lot more toned after 1-2 weeks and we see each other on a regular basis.. You really feel great in it though, it's the newest hollywood diet.. or so I've been reading. I posted the plan for week 1 in CSD general discussion titled 5 factor diet.

Oh another thing, can I add you on the web site after you posted your stats?

barb - 2007-06-19 06:33:11

Rottingoak-I sent you my stats, let me know if you didn't receive, sent them as PM, hope it worked.  Talk to you soon.  Thanks!!

rottingoak - 2007-06-19 08:16:56

Yes - great I got them! I will forward it to Sally, she's taking care of the stats this week and I will need to update the site (I need to fill a few things on there).

How are are you doing today Barb?

nancy_mrn - 2007-06-19 09:01:15

Looks like everyone is doing great and thanks for the tip on the 5 factor diet I will go look at it, I am almost finished with my week one of csd--whoo day 6 today!

Tammy - 2007-06-20 06:33:12

DAY 2. Day one wasn't so bad probably because of all the fruit. It's early in the morning and I'm a little hesitant to eat vegetables but I really want to do this. Reading all of your emails really helps getting me motivated.  Still playing with this website and getting familiar with your lingo, anyway I'll check back later

barb - 2007-06-20 06:41:26

Nancy-So today is your last day, how's it going?  I do hope it's been successful for you.  Isn't it a good feeling coming through the whole week.  Keep up the good work.

Tammy-Glad you did well with day 1, you can make it through today.  You really sound motivated to do this, that's what it takes.  Continued success!!!

Rottingoak-Hope you are getting all your things done, schedules can be so hectic sometimes.

Take care everyone.

36toGoal - 2007-06-20 06:44:56

Hi All,
Not a lot of time to post today.  Come to find out one of our errands yesterday included a visit to the dentist, hubby and I both thought we were having routine cavities filled.  He ended up getting a tooth pulled, I ended up with a root canal!  So, he decided that wasn't much of a day off, go figure!, and took today off too.
But, today is day two of the 3dd for me.  Yesterday went off without a hitch.  Here's hoping day two is the same.  I'm usually okay until dinner on day three...then I'm just sick of that dry tuna!!!
Anyway, hope you're all doing well!  I'll have more time tomorrow to check in and read over things!
Mandy

barb - 2007-06-20 06:49:58

Mandy-Ohhh, a root canal...that should keep you from eating!!!  Hope you're doing well from it.  Yeah, not a very nice day off, huh.  Today is day 3 of the 3DD for me.  I'm doing well with it, need to go to the store and get some fruit.  I know, I'm kind of tired of the canned chicken, especially on saltines.  Talk to you soon.

rottingoak - 2007-06-20 06:55:43

Mandy: yikes that hurts! Try sleeping earlier and fill yourself up with water, maybe that'll help. :)

Barb: Thanks, the deadline for the project is in a week and a half, but there's so much stuff to do I don't think we'll be able to get it done!! AHHH!! Hopefully we can get it postponed a little. I think I'll be losing weight from all this stress haha. I'm getting white hair already!!! bahh.

angellicdelight - 2007-06-21 17:50:10

Yey!
Barb - I've managed to find your thread!!! Hope you got my email yesterday, I promised I'd be back & here I am!!

Rottingoak & Sally - sooooo sorry I've been away for so long, like Barb I was busy & fell out of the healthy eating regime, but I am back & more determined than ever to crack this & get to my goal!!

I'm so glad to hear you are all doing so well, I've not had chance to read any of the other threads as yet to see how you have all been getting on, but I can see from the board there are lots of new names there & lots of motivated people to help get me back on track!!

Barb - well done you!! 3 days of the diet & you are planning on doing another 3 days - let us know what your loss is for the first stint of it - I am keeping everything crossed for you that you have a similar successs to when we did it last time! Thanks so much for posting that link to the 3dd again - it's been so long I'd forgotten what I'm allowed to have!!

Ive just had a quick look for the 2 diet plans I found in my magazines, however I cannot lay my hands on them at the mo. although I know one of them was the 5 day diet I mentioned to you on my email Barb, this is the one that Rottingoak mentioned on her post so I'm going to have a look at the postings on that to see how everyone's getting on with it before I take the plunge on that - I definitely want to do it though!! Although it does sound very appealing - from what you say rottingoak you seem to be doing well with it!

I'm not sure which day I am going to start the 3dd - my best friend has her birthday on Monday & I am certain that she plans to do something this weekend - I think she's hoping for a barbeque on Sunday if the weather is good, but whatever we do I know it will involve food or alcohol, so I think I am best to try to eat healthy in between & then start a regimented diet after this - what do you reckon?!

My other problem is I am due to go up North for a few days next week to see my other half, which I know will involve some unhealthy food & alcohol being consumed - aaaargh!!!! Why is it at this time of year so much seems to be happening that keeps me from being good???!!!

I think I would rather wait until these 'events' are finished before starting on a strict plan, otherwise I know I will mess them up & feel bad - hope you guys don't think thats a cop out!!

I promise that I will eat healthy in between & at the moment I need all you guys for support just to stay on track with that - I've been so naughty in the last few weeks, I got on the scales a few days ago & I had gained 5lb - so Barb, I know exactly how you have been feeling (although you've now done your 3dd so I'm sure you have dropped most of your 6lb yougained - yey!!!)

Anyway, I will check in with you all tomorrow & will have to set some time aside to read the postings I have missed whilst being away from the board!

I do promise to be soooooo good tommorrow, even though I'm not on a plan as such I will elt you know how I'm getting on with my day when I message again!

Speak to you all soon & it's great to be back!

Kerry x

angellicdelight - 2007-06-21 17:54:36

hey Barb - just had a thought that I could do the 'meat diet' tomorrow & Saturday - even if my friend has a barbeque on Saturday I could just eat meat - however the alcohol could be a problem!!!!!

Actually even though it's been quite a few weeks since I did the meat diet, it still kind of fills me full of dread!!! Maybe I should leave that one alone for a while longer - mind you, losing a pound a day on it like we did does tempt me!!!! Maybe I should see if I'm in a meat mood when I wake up in the morning!!!!!

Speak soon! x
