Re: 4th May start! - (Round 2 for 16th April CSD'ers!!)

haha. yeaaah, I weigh myself a couple of times a day too, just to see if there's a change!! I'm hoping I can stay determined, I've always struggled with weight for as long as I remember and I finally said to myself, "this is it, no more putting it off, I'm going to do it!" I hope it lasts, previous times it didn't. smiley-sad

The spinach today was not too bad, I actually like spinach. It was boiled with a little bit of salt, I ate quite a bit of it. I'm trying to take pictures of everything I eat as a way to blog it. I can post it up if this diet is successful. I think I ate a little too much of the steak today.. oh well. Let me know how you're doing with another round of CSD. Any weight loss? I hope so!! smiley-happy

Yeah, where's Kerry? She seems to be awfully quiet. I hope everything is going good for her.

Re: 4th May start! - (Round 2 for 16th April CSD'ers!!)

Well at least we have one more day done, on to tomorrow.  Finally I get the bananas.  I love bananas and this is the day I do actually cheat just a little bit.  When I make smoothies I put just a few raspberries/blueberries in it with the banana, I don't think I could drink just a staight banana smoothie.  I remember last time though I was getting sick of them by the end of the night.  Glad to hear you're doing well on your diet.  So toast tomorrow huh.  Do you eat it dry?  Maybe you could dunk it!!!  Just kidding.  Anyways talk to you tomorrow.

Kerry-Get in touch with us please!!!!

Re: 4th May start! - (Round 2 for 16th April CSD'ers!!)

Ooooh, bananas. how yummy. I used to eat like 4-5 bananas a day until I realised the maximum I could eat was 2. (No wonder I'm in such a bad shape!) haha. Oh, I'm sure it's fine to throw some raspberries/blueberries in there; they're really healthy for your body. Maybe you can dip bananas into the milk, it tasted good for me.

For my bread, I actually did dunk it!! smiley-laugh I got a 60% whole wheat and it tasted a little too dry so I dunked it into my lemon tea and it tasted great. haha. I think I like my food soggy. It's only day two on the diet and I see results on the scale already! When I went to bed last night, I lost a whole pound and after breakfast I lost another whole pound!! (I always weigh myself in minimal clothing, they weigh a lot!) My only complaint is breakfast, I had a piece of bread and my stomach was still rumbling. As of right now, I'm going swimming in the afternoon, but next week I have to go swimming in the morning and I have to make some changes. smiley-sad I hope it'll be okay.

Did you get tired of banana smoothie today? You're more than half way through!!

Re: 4th May start! - (Round 2 for 16th April CSD'ers!!)

Hi Barb! Hi Rotting Oak!!

Don't worry, I am still hear - I'd say alive & well, but the only part of that that would be true is the 'alive' one! I have had a sickness bug & been soooooo ill & to make it worse, my duaghter started with it today smiley-sad

I woke up yesterday & felt a bit iffy, but I just thought it was down to the diet really , last time I did it I had bad headaches for a few days, I haven't had them this time, but I thought it may have been down to too much of that spicy piri piri I added to my soup, I had a bowl before bed the night before as I was starving & I thought that perhaps with all of healthy stuff that maybe my body was struggling with the spice.

Anyway, I really couldn't stomach eating much in the morning, had a bit of fruit & a hot lemon & water to drink, decided to have a go at starting to paint the bathroom & then started getting all shakey & hot, I went to bed to watch some tv to take my mind off it & then just got that feeling where I knew I was going to be sick & it continued from then on (not to go into any detail but it was 'both ends' which is not good!)

I have to say, I do not tend to be sick often & but when I am, I really am terrible as I hate throwing up, it's awful, and to make it worse I don't have my other half here with him working away - the last time I had a bug like this was a couple of years ago & he was here trying to make me feel better & holding my hair while I was sick, bless him - so I was really feeling sorry for myself.

My 10year old daughter was no help, she has a bit of a phobia about people being sick it really scares her, so I called my parents & got them to collect her so she wasn't around - so there I was all alone & feeling horrendous, I would have popped on the chat board to get some sympathy from you guys, but knowing my luck I would have been sick on my keyboard! If I wasn't running for the bathroom I was just trying to lay as still as possible just trying not to be sick again.

Anyway I haven't been sick since about 3am this morning,  by lunchtime I was starting to feel normal again except for my ribs aching from being sick too often. I went to pick my daughter after lunch, got her home, she went out to play but was back within an hour looking pale saying she felt ill & yup, you guessed it, she's been so ill since, so I've spent the rest of today looking after her, she's just gotten off to sleep now, so hopefully the worst is now over - I hope so, I felt so sorry for her plus I have done enough sheet washing to last a lifetime!

It was made worse by the fact that we had planned to do something nice today, as it is the May day bank holiday today in the UK so the kiddies are off school. As my daughter is close to doing some exams at school (start next week) & she's been working so hard revising, I said we would take time out & go & have fun - that plan didn't work out so I think I will take her out somewhere nice next sunday, the day before her exams & then I will organise a nice surprise for the weekend after she's finished the tests to say well done.

Inevitably the diet has suffered ... I had no soup at all yesterday & just a bit of fruit before I was ill. After lunch today I thought I would try to eat something, but absolutely couldn't face soup or banana's so had some dry toast - so that's messed things up - bread, oops, but it really was the only thing I could stomach, I managed one banana later on with a bit of milk, but I really had to force it down & with my daughter being sick I haven't had chance or didn't fancy eating anything, now she's asleep I've had another piece of toast but I absolutely cannot face soup or banana for that matter either. I am gutted that this week of all weeks I had to be ill, but will carry on regardless, hopefully tomorrow the appeal of soup will be better, but I think I am going to have to make another batch without the piripiri, I know it was a sickness bug & not the soup that made me ill, but I think the taste of that soup will now turn my stomach!!!!!

Anyway, it was great to read your posts & hear that you are doing so well!! Rotting oak, I agree with barb, that diet sounds interesting, you'll have to keep letting us know how it's going with it as I definitely would consider giving it a try - the allowance of coffee sounds appealing to me, as it is one of my bad habits, but I really cannot stomach swiss cheese (does it have to be that swiss type do you reckon?) & I'm not the biggest fan of red meat as I prefer chicken & fish, so I might struggle a bit on that!

You both put me to shame with the exercising, I do need to do more, although I'm sure I have given my stomach muscles a good workout with the 'events' of the last couple of days!

Anyway guys, gonna have to get off, gonna have an earlyish night & I really can't keep talking about food at the moment!!

I'll be back on tommorrow for a proper gossip with you both & to check in how your day has been today!! smiley-biggrin

Speak soon!

Re: 4th May start! - (Round 2 for 16th April CSD'ers!!)

Hey Kerry- You're alive!! just barely huh!!  Sounds like you really had it bad, sounds like what my son had.  I'm very glad you are feeling better though and give it another day or so and you'll be back to normal.  Now to get your daughter well.  It's so hard to see our kids sick. I really hope it doesn't last long with her.  I always wonder since their younger do they bounce back quicker??  Have you gone through an entire can of disinfectant??  I about did.  As for the diet, I give you so much credit.  I would never be able to hang in there like you did.  I'm sure you've lost weight just from being sick and it sounds like you didn't eat much, which is understandable.  Maybe your body needs some better nutrition right now, instead of keeping certain foods from it.  Just don't overdo it or anything.  You know what you can handle. I'm the same way as you are when getting sick, I don't know why but I want my husband sitting very close to me at times like that, I know, you'd think "yuck", but he brings comfort to me.  I agree it sounds strange.

I've been hanging in there with the diet.  Ate my 7th banana just a few minutes ago.  I will definately eat 8 before the nights over.  Those smoothies are so good.

Get some rest, that will help you feel like your self again.  It was great to hear from you again, we we're definately thinking something just wasn't right.  Tell your daughter I'm thinking of her and hoping she gets well soon!!  Talk to you soon.

Hey Rottingoak-How did you do today?  How is the swimming going?  Sounds like your having some great results already, YEAH!!!  It's so much easier to do when you see results rather quickly.  I'm sure as long as you stay within the food limits some adjustments won't hurt.  I cleaned more of my house today, so I considered that my exercise (not as strenuous), I'll get up in the morning though and go to the gym.

Talk to you both later.

Hey girls! You are making me want to do the diet again. I have been pondering it this week. Should I? I don't think that it would hurt.

Get me pumped up. You know how hard it was last time!

I also thought about that other diet, rottingoak. Hey maybe when you are all done we could try that? I don't know. Talk soon.

Re: 4th May start! - (Round 2 for 16th April CSD'ers!!)

Hey Kari, Good to hear from you again.  So you're thinking about the diet again, huh?? We're heading into Day 5 tomorrow so I'll be hanging around for a few more days.  You had success with it before right?  Go for it!!!  You can do it!!  If you start and something comes up or you find it's just too hard right now, stop.  Give it another couple of day and try again.  We all know 7 days is not that long and with all the great support you receive via this, you can't lose...ooh, I shouldn't put it that way, huh!!!  Anyways, come on board and we'll help you out as much as we can, but the choice is yours.  Summer really motivates me, we are out in the sun, swimming family so I just think of my bathingsuit...you get my point.  Anyways, let us know.  I'm considering the other diet, see another thread as to the real name, it's on one that Charito33, Paragon and Sally post on...(Rottingoak-did you read that yet, she typed the name in wrong, it's something like Max Planche, I don't remember...I think that's so funny all of us we're googling the other name). Anyways, I've got my mom coming in for a visit so I'm sure I'll be needing to redo what I will have undone while she visits, so I'm considering doing that at the month end.  Keep us informed on what you choose. Have a great night.  Talk later.

Re: 4th May start! - (Round 2 for 16th April CSD'ers!!)

Oh Kerry, it is good to hear from you. It sucks to be sick smiley-hug but I'm glad you're better now. I must applaud you for continuing with the diet! I would probably have quit too. Awesome you're sticking to it! smiley-clapping I hope your daughter feels better soon, sucks to have the day off being sick. smiley-sad

Well, I think I gained half a pound from morning, hm. I feel like I'm cheating a lot on this diet, hopefully my willpower hasn't decreased. I got two blisters from walking a few days back, and I think swimming made it worse. It's infected I believe... no matter, I will go to swimming again tomorrow! Kerry - I never used to exercise, a total couch potato but you can do it! Start with something little and expand on that. I power walked for about 3 hours today so I'm pretty proud of myself. I can't move now though so hopefully I will want to move tomorrow.. haha.

10togo - yes, you should try the diet! CSD is a good diet, you can eat as muuch as you want. My friend was in awe when I told him how much I ate. I mean what diet can let you eat as much as you want and lose weight?!?

barb - yes, I saw charito's post and I made a revised chart. I will post it tomorrow, I'm about to head to bed; really tired and planning to go jogging tomorrow morning. Oh, on the topic of jogging, this might be some inspiration for you guys. Five months ago or so, my dad found out he had diabetes, he watched what he ate and lost 15lbs-20lbs! (I forgot the exact weight loss) but he still had really high blood pressure, colestral, and sugar level. He's had abnormal high blood pressure and bad high colestral all his life. For the past month, he has been jogging very regularly and he had his checkup today: he is normal, in all accounts! He even lost his stomach too, before it humped out like a watermelon. smiley-laugh His experience is definitely an inspiration to me and hope for you ladies as well.

We can do this!!!

Re: 4th May start! - (Round 2 for 16th April CSD'ers!!)

Good morning ladies:  Hope you are feeling even better today, Kerry.  How's your daughter doing?  Oh, I hope you all feel better real soon.  When you're up and posting normally again, let me know where your going to start with everything again, ok.  We are buddies through this!!!!

Rottingoak-that is so cool about your dad, good for him!!!  It obviously has improved his life and that makes it all worth it.  Tell him to keep it up.  Glad to hear you are doing well with the MP diet.  Don't think too much into the 1/2 pound gain.  It could be anything.  I know it's hard to work through those hurdles, but remember you're exercising and making good changes so hang in there.

10togo-What have you decided???  Hope to hear from you soon.

Have a big day ahead of me.  We are seeking some property so have been doing lots of driving around.  Keeps me from eating.  Talk soon.

Re: 4th May start! - (Round 2 for 16th April CSD'ers!!)

Hi guys!

Thanks so much for all your lovely messages - I'm feeling back to normal now almost, thank goodness & my daughter even managed school today - I didn't think she would but she assured me she felt better, they have some drama group going in to the school this afternoon & she was really looking forward to that, so I think that's the reason she really wanted to go, otherwise I'm sure she would have wanted to stay off & take it easy - I was half expecting a phone call from the school, but have had none, thankfully - she did sleep right through last night so she had a lot of sleep, so that's good & I packed her packed lunch up with so many different options, I'm sure she won't want to eat much but I thought if I give her lots of choices she can just pick what she fancies!!

Not sure she'll make her dance class tonight, but we'll see how she is when I collect her from school in about 45 mins!

Well girls, I managed some soup today!!! Yey!!!!! I thought I would have to force myself to have some & it was ok - I feel guilty about not having some today, so although I am going to take it easy & probably won't want that much, I will try to have another bowl later & I'll definitely have some meat today too!

I panicked this morning as I couldn't get connected to the internet - my luck this week is so bad!!! I tried all morning, called my iternet provider & they said I wasn't showing I had an ISDL line (don't understand technical stuff at all!!) They said they would need to check the ISDL signal to my house & it would take up to 3 days - oh my god - my first thought was not being able to get on the board to speak to you guys & hear how you were doing, I was mortified!!!!!! Anyway, I planned to visit my parents, drop you all a line to let you know my latest predicament, but I've just come to the computer to give it another go & the internet light on my router is flashing & it connected - yey!!!! panick over hopefully, not sure if they did what they waid they were going to do to the ISDL or if it just fixed itself??!!!

Anyway, hopefully the computer problem is sorted, but just in case it all goes wrong again & I'm not back on, you know why - I don't want you have to have to worry about me if I can't get connected to post!!!!!! I'm sure it will be fine now, but just in case, I promise to stick to the diet for the last days of it, so if all else fails with my internet I am with you guys in spirit!!!!!

10togo - hiya!! Great to hear from you & that all is well, I agree with barb, if you want to go for it again then you certainly should, yes we have all struggled at times with this diet, but you did so well last time I know you can do it again!!!

Rotting oak - great to hear you are still going well & staying strong, try not to worry about the half pound gain, it sounds like you & barb have been weighing youself a lot, so you will notice every little change, be it up or down, I'm sure by sticking with the plan you will be very pleased with the overall loss at the end of the week & your final weigh in! Great to hear your dad's great news - good on him for taking action, you and your family must be so pleased!

Barb - sounds like you are busy hunting for property, like you say, it will take your mind off it, plus you are certainly not as easily tempted being in a car, unless of course you want to try eating the steering wheel or the dash board - hahaha!!!!

Anyway, best get ready to pick my daughter up from school - I'll post tonight if my internet connection is still going strong!!!

Speak to you all soon! Have a fab day!

Re: 4th May start! - (Round 2 for 16th April CSD'ers!!)

barb - I'm going to be optimistic, I saw your post on the other thread, you're so close to your goal!!! That's awesome, don't you dare give up! smiley-first  Good luck on finding a place, keep us posted!

Kerry - It's great to hear you're feeling a lot better. I'm so proud of you having some of that soup, don't over-push yourself, do what you know your body can handle. Oh internet, aren't they so troublesome. I'm glad it's back and up though because we definitely need to keep each other updated! I remember when I didn't have internet for a week, our provider messed us up bad. I hope it's smooth sailing for you. smiley-smile

I didn't go jogging this morning, I felt extremely weak last night and continued to do so this morning. I had myself an extra half slice of bread to have some energy. I'm going to go on my workout after I run some errands. I see myself slacking off soon. smiley-sad Maybe you ladies can give me your opinion: I feel like I'm eating a little too little to be exercising so much? I walk about 7 miles a day in 2 1/2 hours and swim for another 90 minutes. I felt so weak this morning. Should I continue to do this and see how it goes or should I be eating more or cutting back on the exercise?

and here's a revised max planck diet, I put it together according to the information I found on google:

Re: 4th May start! - (Round 2 for 16th April CSD'ers!!)

Hi there ladies! I haven't written in a while but have been keeping up to date with all of you - checking in three times a day!! - I love hearing what you are all getting up to! I have been able to keep the weight off for the past two weeks eating along the lines of the South Beach Diet ie. Protein and lots of vegetables!!! ( with a few hiccups here and there!smiley-blush) Anyway I should be ready for another blitz next week if anyone is interested!! Remember all my goals(various family events-first communion, 40th birthdays etc) well they all start in two and half weeks time!!!smiley-eek I have to admit I had hoped to be closer to my goals by this stage but with me it's three steps forward two steps back!! smiley-sad Anyway, its a case of pure panic that is keeping me motivated at this stage!!!

I am making the dinner at the moment so this should be quick - just a couple of things I wanted to contribute to:

rottingoak - I am very concerned about your measurements and the amount of exercise you are doing - maybe I am just a big lazy heifer  smiley-ohmy but your measurements appeared to be very small and the amount of exercise you are taking an awful lot. I don't want to make you feel uncomfortable but out of genuine concern please slow down and be gentle on yourself. xx

Kerry - good to see you back

Barb - Fabulous work girl - stay motivated!

Max Planche - I don't know girls - at least the CSD was definitely a healthy detox diet - coffee for breakfast and nothing else till lunch - I would have to be very busy all day to get through that one!!! The 3 day diet listed by charito etc could be worth trying as a boost to the system (but I don't think I could survive on just ham for dinner with the MAx Planche!) What helped me get through the CSD was the fact that I could have some soup to keep the hunger pangs away ANYTIME. I'm afraid I am a grazer - I think that is why I have been able to stay on the SBD as you get three meals and two snacks!!

Anyway dinners burning!!

Charito - nice to see you back on track - I love your posts!! Sally 22 - I hope you are okay - sounds like you need to chill out for a while and look after yourself - we need you around to keep answering our questions!!

Keep it up girls!!

Sinead

Re: 4th May start! - (Round 2 for 16th April CSD'ers!!)

Hiya there!

Well, the internet connection is still going ok, fingers crossed it will keep me online for the rest of my diet!!!!

Rottingoak, thanks for your message - yes, I am not going to overdo it, the soup was ok but if I can't handle any at teatimethen I will not force myself - am feeling a little weak, so any thought of exercise is out of the window for now - was hoping to get out in the sun rollerblading this week, but I'm not going to do that until I feel 100% - my energy has completely gone!!!!

I think you made a wise move by not going for your jog this morning if you were feeling weak, you really don't want to push it.

It's so hard when first starting out on these eating plans as you soooooo want to stick to the exact diet & amounts to see the results & don't want to mess anything up, however I think you really have to listen to your body & you are absolutely right to be thinking to either eat a little more or to exercise a little less.

I'm really not sure which option is best, I suppose only you yourself really know that - would it be hard cutting down on the exercise whilst you are on the plan? I know some people really can't do without their usual exercise regime & it would be hard for them to cut it down - I look at the amount of exercise you do & my thoughts are wow!!! that really is some going on the exercise front & my first reaction would be to say cut it down on the plan if you are feeling weak, you would still be doing a lot even if you halved what you are doing, however if it really would make you unhappy with doing less exercise then do up your food intake more & stick to your usual exercise.

Perhaps it's worth trying it both ways to see which option works  best for you, if you are planning on doing another 7 day stint of this eating plan soon you could perhaps try eating more for the rest of this week & keeping your exercise the same & then next time you commence on the plan you could follow the diet as it is set out but cut down the exercise to a level that suits your body & so reflects the low intake of calories your body is intaking?! Obviously you want  the best outcome of weigh loss but without it making you ill, so by tring both ways at least you would know for the future which one suits you best!! Mind you, saying that, you really don't have a huge amount of loss to get to your target weight so it's not like you will have to keep enduring this plan for weeks & weeks on end I'm sure!!

Is there anyone else on the posting board who is having the same feelings of weakness whilst on this plan? Perhaps charito will offer some advice if she's done this plan already?

Barb - hope you are continuing well today - I know you will be with your willpower of steel!!! I'm sure you'll be on later to tell me how it's going!!!

10to go - drop us another post soon & let us know if you've decided to CSD again, or if you are thinking about trying the other plan rottingoak is on - I'm eager to find out some of the others conclusions & their loss on the other plan before I decide - some of the things on the list I might struggle with a bit, but hey, if it's worth it then I'm game!!!

Right, best get off, my daughter made it to dance class, so am off to pick her up & see everyone at the leisure centre working out while I look on feeling guily smiley-blush !!!!

Wish all you guys lived around the corner from me so we could all exercise together!

Speak later!

Re: 4th May start! - (Round 2 for 16th April CSD'ers!!)

Kerry-So glad things are getting back to normal in your household.  You are right back on track, aren't you.  Good for you!!!  Atleast you got one bowl down, sometimes that all I could do.  I hope the meat taste ok, try to pick something that really sounds good.  I'm struggling these last few days, these are not my favorites.  Hope your server doesn't give up either, it's so nice chatting back and forth.  What are your thoughts on this MP diet, I'm reading mixed reviews about it.  I'm glad to get some feedback from Rottingoak about it.  Talk to you soon, ok.

Rottingoak-You really need to listen to your body.  I think it's telling you it needs more fuel.  I almost think that if you're going to exercise that hard you might need to get some more food in your body, otherwise your going to start burning muscle (I believe).  I think the most important thing is to listen to your body, it's giving you signs so don't ignore them.  I remember reading posts about just being on the CSD and people saying don't exercise because the calorie intake is just too low.  I still will exercise, but I'm not doing a triathelon or anything too deeply strenuous.  Maybe do one or the other, walk/swim.

Sinead-Hi!! Good to hear from you again.  Great job keeping your weight off.  When I'm trying to eat normally I have to stick to something more low carb, my body is more of a protein type.  After this week is up I need to take a couple of weeks off, my mom is coming for a visit.  I hope I don't go overboard on anything.  I've worked to hard to get to where I'm at.

Gotta go get my little girl from school.  Will talk later.

Re: 4th May start! - (Round 2 for 16th April CSD'ers!!)

Hi everyone!

How's it going?!

Sinead - great to hear from you hun! & good to hear you are still being healthy & fab to hear you are  up for some more CSD or something along those lines!!!

I'm certainly up for doing something again soon, afterall I'm not holding too much hope out for massive success  this week - with being ill I've not stuck to things as I should have, I didn't eat the soup for a couple of days - I managed 1 and half bowls today, but really couldn't finish my bowl I had tonight, I had a bit of chicken with some veg earlier, but didn't really fancy that so succumbed to a couple of slices of toast tonight. Plus, it sounds bizarre, but as I was drinking lots of water in between being ill, I really can't face much water either, it seems to taste weird to me now!!! So have to say I have been drinking fruit juice today, as I needed something with some taste & as drinks are limited to water, I really had to give in to juice! Oh well, I'm still sticking it out as much I can & we'll see what the weigh in brings!!!!

Barb - I'm actually thinking next week to have a few days doing that meat diet you did - I'm sure I can do it for a few days! Can you have fish as well as meat? Also I'm sure you mentioned something about eggs ... do let me know as I think I will do that at some point next week whilst I wait to see what everyone's outcomes have been from that plax thing!

I'm sure you will still continue to be good when your mum comes to visit - it's only a couple of weeks & you really do deserve to have one or two treats in your 'break' I know you panic about the pounds coming back easily, but if you stay healthy a lot of the time but allow yourself some treats & still manage to get some exercise in I'm sure it won't be as bad as you imagine!! You work soooo hard with all your healthy eating regimes you really do deserve a bit of relaxed time too!! Plus with your willpower of steel you will be back on the healthy eating after the 2 weeks to lose any weight that has crept on, & we'll be here to do it with you!! I'm thinking of trying that meat thing next week & maybe if it's ok I might try it for 3 days the week after, then if you want to start something after your mum's gone back home just let me know & I'll start it with you!

Rottingoak - your table for the max planck diet looks great - it must have taken you ages to put that together, well done on a great job! So what exactly is the day 7 dinner with the smiley face that reads 'anything'?! Does that mean you are able to eat pizza & icecream washed down with wine?!!! Would be fab if it was!

Anyway, I'll close for now & will be back on later if I don't get tired & hit my bed early! If I do I'll speak to you all in the morning!

Speak soon!

Re: 4th May start! - (Round 2 for 16th April CSD'ers!!)

Sinead - I wish more people in real life would tell me I don't need to lose any weight! haha. But I'm really short and I've decided that I'm going to do A LOT less exercise. It's a bit too tough for my body. I actually like the Max Planck diet better than CSD. Even though on CSD, I could have all the fruits I wanted, I felt it was still a bit stricted. You're right - breakfast is a bit tough but sometimes you might be able to seperate lunch into a few snacks so that should be fine.

Barb, Kerry, don't get me wrong, I don't think this diet makes you weak, I have just been over-exercising for the past few days. I think I'll walk or jog for a little everyday. I really want to stay on this diet.

Kerry: a while back you asked something about the cheese I forgot to comment on, I think a slight change on the cheese should be fine. Maybe you should compare the package nutrition information with whatever cheese you choose to swiss cheese? Once again, it's great you're sticking to the diet!! smiley-laugh

Re: 4th May start! - (Round 2 for 16th April CSD'ers!!)

Hi everyone!

Gosh, I'm still up & it's late, I promised myself an earlish night & watch the latest episode of lost I've recorded, but here I am still reading posts on the board!

Rottingoak - good to hear you've decided on taking things a bit easier whilst on your plan, I'm sure you'll feel much better!! Don't worry, I wasn't being put off by the weakness thing you mentioned, I could from looking at the intake of food on the diet & looking at your huge amount of exercise that it was the exercise that must have been causing the weakness you were feeling ... I'm sure that wouldn't happen to me as I could never find the time to fit that much into my day - hahaha!!

I too agree with Sinead, you already sound like the perfect size to me!  (as I'm sure Barb does too, I keep thinking how I'd love to be Barbs weight as she is now already!!) A bit of an ego boost for you - I'd love my waist & hips to be your size!  But I absolutely understand that everyone has their own goal of weight that they would like to be, I used to love being 108lb a few years back, I look back at photos of then and I think that weight suited me & I didn't look ill & felt great with loads of energy! I know realistically I won't get back to that but would love to get to somewhere around 112 if I can! I've some way to go, but if we can break our goals down into smaller chunks it seems all the more easier & achievable!!!

Thanks for letting me know your thoughts on the cheese on the MP diet .... that's a good idea comparing the cheeses to find one I like that is close nutritionwise - if I decide to give that eating plan a go I'll have to check it out (might look a bit obsessive down the cheese aisle in the supermarket reading all the labels, but hey, who cares - I've already done that down the soup aisle trying to find a substitute for the Liptons I can't get in the UK, I read practically all the packets of every different soup & stock mix - I'll bet they had the security camera's on me wondering what the hell I was doing!!!)

Barb - how's it going today? I bet you were looking forward to your meat today, even after overdosing on it for those 3 days on that diet you did, I bet you were looking forward to having some meat today!!

I managed a bit of chicken and another half bowl of soup, but I opted for a couple of slices of multigrain toast as I really needed something basic in my stomach other than veg & meat! Also been not too good with the drinks, was finding it hard to drink water today - I really didn't like the 'taste' of it (even though it tastes of nothing!) but because I had been sipping so much throughout my sickness I've temporarily gone off it - I knew I needed liquids so have had quite a bit of fruit juice today - ooops! Oh well, we'll see how the final weigh in goes, I'm not expecting miracles as I know I've been off track, so as I don't have high expectations for loss I can't be disappointed & you never know, I might surprise myself!!!

Right, better get off as it's getting close to 2am & I am determined to catch my episode of Lost to find out what Jack, Lock, Kate & the gang have been up to!

Speak soon,

Kerry x

Re: 4th May start! - (Round 2 for 16th April CSD'ers!!)

Me again!!

I didn't read my message back before I posted it & just read it now - it sounded a bit confusing & doesn't make sense I think, (or maybe it's just me!) when I said:

'I too agree with Sinead, you already sound like the perfect size to me!  (as I'm sure Barb does too, I keep thinking how I'd love to be Barbs weight as she is now already!!)

That should have read 'as I'm sure Barb IS too' - meaning that knowing your weight barb (which I would love to be!) that your measurements are probably very similar & super slim like rottingoaks too!! I would be over the moon with having a 23.5" waist!!! Here's hoping!

I had to correct myself as I'm not sure how that reads & don't want to offend anyone!!!

Must definitely go before I mess any more of my posts up!!!!

Speak soon!

Re: 4th May start! - (Round 2 for 16th April CSD'ers!!)

Oh my gosh Kerry, my husband and I love to watch Lost also.  We are totally hooked.  If we miss one we watch it on the computer.  It has definately sucked us in, great show!!!   Well, I feel off the wagon a bit today.  I've been feeding my kids fast food for the last 2 nights since we've been looking at properties right after picking my daughter up from school.  Yesterday I did good, didn't even touch a french fry, but man they smelled good.  Well, tonight was another story.  I did eat about 4 fries, probably not too bad, but I also got one of the fruit parfait yogurt things and had that, then we got home and I loved the yogurt so much I had another yogurt here at the house.  I'm really not too crazy about the meat days.  I'm not going to beat myself up about this, just back on track tomorrow.  Will do what I can till my mom gets here.  I will send you the link for the meat fast soon ok.  I found it hard to do, but it definately works.  I think it's like this, if you want fast results it will get them for you, nothing to do on a consistent basis, that's for sure.  I don't blame you for eating a few pieces of toast, that's what your body needs after a sickness.  It's light and not stomach upsetting.  I do know what you mean about even water tasting funny.  Is your daughter still feeling better?  Hope so!

I know I'll give into temptation when my mom is here and I'm ok with that.  I just gain weight VERY easily, I'm very serious about that.  The littlest splurch and that's all it takes.  I'm sure I'll need some maintenance after she leaves, so I know I'll keep in touch.

Rottingoak-Glad to hear the diet is still working for you.  I mean we all need to push ourselves, but we also just need to know our limitations and what our bodies need.  Right now I have people see me and say, you don't need to diet,  so I don't really even tell people that I'm trying to lose a few pounds, I mean I'm so close to my goal, but that's just it, I'm not there yet.  People can be very judgemental and sometimes jealous because of what you're achieving.  Does that make sense?

Anyways, let's all of us keep up the good work and stay focused, that's what I really need to do right now.  Thanks for all your words of encouragment.

Re: 4th May start! - (Round 2 for 16th April CSD'ers!!)

Well no need to fright anymore, I just realised I lied about my measurements! I didn't do it on purpose, I promise. The tape ruler I used is in some other weird measurement. It looked like an inch to me since I live in Canada and we don't really use inches here. smiley-tongue So basically add 5-10 inches to everything smiley-laugh I feel so stupid now. I'd love my sizes to be what I posted earlier too! in inches that is. I'm sure we can achieve it if we put our mind to it. Definitely.

Haha, I do that too - looking at nutrition information on the back of everything!! I saw a documentary on sugar last year and it freaked me out. I checked every label after that.

Honestly, don't blame yourself for going off track, you were sick! It's amazing you're still sticking to the diet!! My parents are telling me to give up on this diet and eat normally so I can exercise that amount, but I really want to stick to it. I'm much like you, like to have something to follow or else I'll just eat everything I see, I mean everything!

Barb - how are you doing today? I haven't heard much about your progress as of today, I hope you're doing well and enjoying your meat. yumm.

Hey Kerry,  We seem to be online at the same time a lot, only it's 9:00 for me.  Have you started LOST yet?  I didn't take it wrong or anything.  I'm not easily offended or anything and you're way to nice of a person to make someone feel bad or say something mean.   Enjoy the episode.  Maybe we need a Lost forum!!!! ha ha

Re: 4th May start! - (Round 2 for 16th April CSD'ers!!)

I'm still online & I said I was going to bed now - hahaha!!

Couldn't resist repling to you Barb! Yes, I love Lost, although I'm sure you are a bit ahead of me as they air earlier in the US - I'm up to the one where last week charlie nearly died when they went looking for the girl who had come down from the plane - she's now awake & talking - my mum said this next episode I'm about to watch has got a bit more info on what she is doing there & why she has the photo of that scottish guys girlfriend & also about lock - it's not been about him since he left with 'the others' I absolutely love the show, it's the best thing on tv!!

Do not worry about your few fries & the yoghurts, you seem fine about it, so I know you won't beat yourself up, like you said just forget it & continue with your usual motivation tomorrow!!! - I needed my toast, so I really can't feel guilty & the fruit juice was a must too,!! Although I'm sure water will be fine again tomorrow - here's hoping!!

I'm sure you will want to eat nice things whilst your mum comes over ... if you can't have the odd treat now and again it's really no fun at all - I'm sure you'll be eating out sometimes when she's here so do treat yourself & order what you fancy, force yourself to order that icecream girl!! We can get onto some form of plan on these boards when she's gone home again - you'll be raring to go again by then & I will certainly be up for it as I am so determined to shift this weight for those white jeans!!

My daughter is absolutely fine, thanks for asking!! I agree that kiddies do bounce back faster than we do after a sickness, which is absolutely how it should be - you wouldn't even have thought she'd been ill seeing her at her 'street beatz' danceclass tonight - I even managed to get her to do some revision with me for her exams - oh aren't I so mean getting her to do that so soon after her illness, she was cool with it though bless her - I just want to try to get as much done this week so she can have a stress free non-revision weekend before her exams start ... I don't want her panicking over the weekend ... just lots of play, fun & an early night on Sunday!

I absolutely agree with you barb about the way friends sometimes react - that is one of the reasons that I don't really mention my diet to my family & friends - when my friend came over earlier in the week with chocolate & fizzy drinks I just had to refrain otherwise she would have tempted me & really tried to get me to eat it & told me I didn't need to lose weight & I think part of that really is down to her being jealous in a strange way as she wouldn't want me weighing less than her & wearing a smaller size - isn't it strange??!! The majority of my friends would act this way if I mentioned it & maybe they think they are simply trying to be nice when they say I don't need to lose weight, butthey've all seen me smaller & I was much happier with how I looked then, so you'd think they would encourage me!! I would always encourage any of my friends if they weren't happy with their size!!

That's why I'm so glad to have these boards to post on with you guys - we all absolutely understand & have nothing but wise words & encouragement for each other - long live the CSD boards, they, & everyone on them are fab!!! Yey!!!!! smiley-clapping

Anyway, I am absolutely going now - hahaha!!! I can hear John Lock calling me!! (don't think I've got a fetish for John Lock by the way, Sawyer is more my kind of man! - john was just the first name that came into my head!!)

Night, night speak to you tomorrow!

Re: 4th May start! - (Round 2 for 16th April CSD'ers!!)

Kerry-Here is the link for the meat fast directions.  I think the website speaks for itself as to why people would use this diet.  I don't believe it is a long term thing to do, but it does get you through a plateau.  My experience has been when you get closer to your weight goal you hit these plateaus and sometimes it can take months and I mean months to get you to where you're losing weight again, so things like this and even the CSD helps those hurdles.  Kerry-These words weren't meant specifically for you, just anyone who might take a look.  Talk soon, ok.

Ok, I'll give this a try, I can see you're still online, but you might not get this till tomorrow.  You're gonna love the episode tonight, if it's the one I think it is.  We'll talk more tomorrow about it, ok!!!!  I like Sawyer also, not so much because of the bad boy image, but he's funny, sensitive, etc.  It's like we know them so personally huh!!!  Wow, do I need to get a life or what!!!  A lot of my friends watch it too, so we talk about together.  Talk to you tomorrow.

Re: 4th May start! - (Round 2 for 16th April CSD'ers!!)

Hi rottingoak! Yes, I saw a message on one of the other threads about your mix up with the tape measure -that's the kind of thing I'd do - I got my weight about 8 or 10lb wrong when I started this diet as I used my scales on a carpet & they had to be on a flat hard floor - I took them onto the wooden floor & was happy to see I was less pounds than I had thought! So mixing things up is so easy to do!! I agree - those stats you posted would be fabulous to have!!

I agree with being a bit obsessive about reading labels - I read an article about sugar & how to convert the nutrition info on everything to see how many teapoons of sugar was in things - I was horrified!! Especially in things that I put in my daughters packing up like kiddies yoghurts! I read an article about those hydrodgenated vegetable fats, so now I always look out for those - I can't believe how many things they use that in & I think it's just to prolong the shelf life of a product - it's terrible!!

Barb - yes, I'm still here & posting - I have to go and watch lost & tear myself away from these threads - hahaha!! By the way, forgot to mention that Jack is also one of my favourites  (sawyer & jack definitely make the show more watchable - yummy!!)

I REALLY am going now!!! hahaha!!
