Hi everyone!
I haven't been around lately but am an old friend of Nancy_mrn's. I was thinking of starting the CSD today myself (at least for 3 days) and was wondering if I could join you?
I still continue to make the soup no matter what plan I follow, (I do WW points) but right now I feel I need a little extra push. In the past days 1, 2, and 3 are the most successful for me and on day 4 I crash and burn! (and gain weight) so if I could just try to stick with you for a few days this week, is that okay?

this is great, it's the first time I feel so much support for a diet!
thanks Nancy for keeping track of the progresses. Next weight in in a few days!
Katz, if you feel like eating cheese... come and write us something on the board!
Offline
haha! Thanks Jenifer...yes..no more cheese for me! I actually think I finished it off yesterday so I sure ain't buying anymore..lol
Welcome Rachie!
Ok...so I think there's quite a few of us starting today...so that's awesome! The more, the merrier
Thanks Nancy for starting this thread up. I so needed this....
I began my Day 1 on a postitive note today...Had my fruit shake. (blueberries, pineapples, blackberries and raspberries with water). It's doing the trick for me this morning.
I realized yesterday that I was strong all day on this, and became very week towards the end of the night once th boyfriend came home...lol So, I'll be watching out for that tonight
We most likely will be watching another video tonight...and I always need popcorn while watching them, so tonight's plan of attack, is fruit during the movie and I'll make sure to have soup about an hour earlier than the movie...and lots and lots of water!

Hey Twilight! Welcome!
I do WW points as well (just taking a break this week from it)
I was wondering how many points you count the soup for when you are following the points?
Offline
It's all veggies so it's zero!
Tonight instead of popcorn, try freezing some grapes today! They are really good, like little popsicle balls! The sweet red ones work the best! Otherwise fresh cherries work well to replace popcorn.

twlight I will add your name to the "Master List" tomorrow but I need a starting weight if we are to keep you honest LOL
I crash on burn on day 4 too so I don't set myself up for failure. I recognized it as a trouble spot so I repeat either day 2 or 3...pick one!
As for late night snacks around the ole TV, yes frozen fruit is good on fruit days and so are dill pickles on veggie day. Another trick I have used is slice some cucumber & radishes with a mandolin. Makes them thin so you feel like you are eating more and can keep dipping you hand in the bowl so to speak
You can also make french fries out of carrots, cut into thin strips and place on cookie sheet, spray with pam and bake about 400-425 for 30-45 min they are great. (I have also done that trick with butternut squash and sweet potato)

Do we really need to give our weight? I am so ashamed because as hard as I've been trying to lose weight the past months, there has been no change! If that is the case I don't know if I can do it, really, I am so mad at myself for not losing, I even removed my "Ticker" from the other site!!
So you can throw me out! Sniff! Sniff!
Offline
I would never throw you out twilight!!!!!
just give me the last digit that will be good enough to track how does that sound...any number from 0-9 and we can track that, as a matter of fact I can do that with everyone
Would the rest of you be more comfortable it I edited the list to just the last digit?

oh girl...I'm ok with my weight being public...It helps me more I think. lol
You guys mentioned some great ideas with the food. I know that will help.
Question...When you guys did this diet in the past, how much did you lose, and were you able to keep it off once you were eating your regular (healthy food) again?
Offline
Thank you, I know I'm a big baby, but I also was thinking of just doing it for 3 days anyway.

Good Evening everyone,
I am just finishing day 3 and so far so good and loosing 1lb every day
I think I am the only one from a different time zone! I live in London England anyway need to change my weight into lbs - so today I am 186 lbs started at 189.
When I did this diet before lost more inches than weight especially around my bum and face. Total weight loss around 30lbs and kept it off for over a year.
I think I will take your advise Nancy and do day 3 again as I am always starving on the bananas and skimmed milk.
I have had sugar free chewing gum too which helps.
I have to go out for a chinease meal with friends on day 6 - that will be challenging indeed- any tips

Im starting my diet today! I dont have 30+ pounds to lose but close enough. Im 5'1 140lbs right now and really want to get back to my normal weight of 115lbs or even 125lbs(just being in a size 5 will be heaven) . SO COUNT ME IN
Offline
Kaz88 I lost 30 pounds last spring and summer then over the winter I did not realize it but I slowly started going back to poor eating habits and drinking to much wine and before I new it poof the wieght crept back on so I am determined to make this more of a life change rather than a "diet"
PortiaBanks84 welcome aborad! and don't worry that you don't have the 30+ I thnk it is great you want to get heathy...btw I have never even goteen a thigh into a size 5 LOL.
Even when I was a teen I looked like a toothpick that swallowed a basket ball and it landed on my ass. Now that basket ball has turned into an inflated tire that covers me from my ribs to my thighs hehe
Twilight--come on and hang in there with us for 7! just repeat day 3 on 4 nibble on chicken on 5 & 6 then on seven have a glass or two of wine for me and I will do the same lol

secotine, I usually still have a piece of fruit for breakfast but others have truly stuck to the veggie thing and have stir fryed (in veggie spray) veggies. And when I stick to this diet to a tee I usually just pack a big bag of sliced veggies and instead of eating a "breakfast" I just graze until lunch. and then there are those who heat up the soup and dig in! So do what is going to be the best way for you to stay on this regime. Even if you deviate slightly I think you will lose the same amount.
When you break this diet down you really are only eating about 800-1300 calories each day depending on how many bowls of soup, or on meat days how much and how it is prepared

its so great to start the diet at harvest time
the veggies and fruits in the market are amazing
So!

honeybear, loving my wine is an understatement!!!
but I will give it up for 7 days
I did notice that after going a week without wine, last week on my off week it did not take much for me to "feel the effect" but of couse that did not stop me.
don't worry about weighing yourself we will figure out another way to measure your success.....like how many fingers can you get in your waist band? LOL

First Goal: Start CSD on Monday, soup ready, fruit handy!
Second Goal: Finish a day one with no cheats! (for those of you a few days ahead of us)
Who will be able to celebrate the second goal? I won't be able to tell until the morning as it is only mid afternoon here.
We will work on Goals Three and Four tomorrow

THANKS!
I know re:wine-
I am thinking of it as a diet and liver cleanse in one! My skin always looks so much better when I cut out red wine, but I dove into a delicious medoc last night to end off my bad habits..
Tomorrow I am going to go to the gym and weigh myself so I can at least benifit from the dropage----I don't keep a scale in the house because I don't want to get obsessed.
I know this week is going to help me start toward my 20 pound goal! I have never been so excited about a potato like I am for tomorrow!
Looking forward to watching us all slip away!

*Groan*
It is day 4 for me.... my husband and I took our kids to the park today (my husbands day off). They all ate fried chicken. Of course I am only allowed bananas and milk and soup today. Gees! it was the hardest thing I ever did to not eat any of that fried chicken! Actually, I finally took one TINY bite of my son's chicken....then ate 3 bananas.
It was driving me nuts. But ... *shoo* I am thru that part now. The rest of the day should be ok. Going to eat my soup in a few min. I will be good now
I wanted some popcorn last night in the worst way. But did not eat any.
I Can do this!!
I started on Friday, so my starting weight was 243.5 lbs. Not going to weigh again til Thursday night. Will let you know on Thursday how I did.
I thought the first day was hard...but now I agree that banana day is just that...BANANAS!! whoever thought of that??...
