Hi All
Its just gone 10am in SA, and it is day 2 for me, and I am feeling GREAT!!! NO hunger pains, or even a craving!!
Had soup for breakfast, and made myself some nice vegatables for lunch, and then soup again around 3o'clock.
I think we must get a site on the net, so we can at least post a photo of ourselves, in order to see who our diet buddies are!! What do you think?
If anyone would like to send a picture of themselves, please do, I like putting a face to a "name". My email : coreen.altona@quintiles.com.
Good luck!!! Speak again soon!!

Nikldollars great job on resisting! I know bannana day is a toughy and I can not tolorate it and end up doing day 3 again .. so my hat is off to you
Coreen, that is the wonderful thing about this diet you are never hungry! and there are so many ways to cook veggies and on fruit days wow just go to any farmers market and there is so much.
Well I made it through day one and this is my begining of day too, early here now 5:40am and I am getting ready for work. I have my soup and "snack" veggies packed and ready to go.
I think for m goals today 1. drink more water 2. try and get at least 30 min of exercise in. Yesterday I did 20 min with a resistance band for toning but I really need some cardio
nancy
whoo hoo we are getting closer to our goal!

Day one is over, and it was kinda easy.
I even did 30 min of cardio!
I could not get myself to eat breakfast this morning... plain vegetable at 7 am is just not for me!
To keep track of what I drink I like the 1L evian bottles. It's easy to see where you're at during the day and I like it better than drinking out of a glass. A few drops of lemon juice also helps drinking more of it.
Hot tea is also a great solution.
I think I drunk too much yesterday. I seriously went 20 times to the bathroom! I was glad I could work from home...
Keep the good work people, we're gonna get those pounds off

Hello all! Day one is down for me. But I must admit, I made a boo boo! I have a little sister through big brothers big sisters and when I picked her up, her mom let me know she hadn't eaten yet, so I took her to McDonalds - that honestly usually isn't a temptation for me. Not last night! I broke down and got a chicken sandwhich meal! And devoured it!! I did at least scrape the mayo off of it! ANd drink a diet soda instead of the root beer I was craving. But here is the most amazing part of all - even after a meal at McDonalds - I still lost 1lb!! Woohoo!! I just keep in mind that is not what would normally happen! Anyway, I promise to do better. It is the beginning of day 2. I am mixing things up a little bit this morning having some rasberries and skim milk for breakfast. Good luck to all of you starting day 2 or any day!!

Good Job secotine with the cardio, You have inspired me to get with it today.
Rachie, don't worry about the boo boo. and good job on the loss. I never show a weight loss until days 5, 6 or 7. That is why I have a hard time finishing a week by the end of day 5 and not seeing anything it is so easy to just say **** and really blow it.
Doesn't it always seem as soon as you put "diet" into your vocabulary you want to eat everything that will not bit you back?
Lets take that word out and replace it with something better.....nothing that sounds healthy though, no fun in that.
cabbage soup lifestyle? skinny living diet? LOL the list could go on and on

Day two-
I have always kind of liked soup for breakfast, but the colours all looked pretty grey-
I had a dream last night it was new years and I was drinking dessert wine and eating cheese.
It was delicious!
In your dreams as they say.
Didn't cheat, but can not live without one coffee a day and going for that now.
Everyone seems to be doing well!
Have a lot of people blended the soup to make it more of a puree?
I think I am going to try that for tonights dinner-
YEAYYYYY POTATO!!!!

HB I have tried the soup blended and I did not care for it but I hope you like it. Mine was more a mental thing, I want something to chew LOL
Lucky you at least you had cheese and wine in your dreams LOL I had night sweats and a loud breathing spouse..At least when I drank the wine before bed all those little things seemed to dissapear
It's only seven days and then I will have a glass or two before I start it all over again

I am a new member , and also on day 2. I am having a tough time what vegetables to have. Had one carrot and one cuke, some tomatoes, all from the garden for breakfast. Soup for lunch, yes, curry makes it taste a lot better. Thinking of a Big Mac now though, after I read the McDonald's visit by another member. Lost two pound this morning, usually don't lose until day 5 either. I am trying to stick to it. Want to lose about 10 pounds now, but I chose the wrong week, our anniversary (35) is on Friday, and will eat duck or lump crabmeat that day. Hope you are all doing well.

Zoey2004 great job on 2 pounds gone, wish I could say the same. As for what veggies, eat any and all!
I am more prone to slice some carrot, cucumber, & radishes for snacks dipping them in fat free dressing and for dinner of couse that potato with some spray butter, salt and pepper. And a hugh bowl of stir fried veggies with a little oyster sauce or soy. with the sir fry I use whatever I have, like tonight it will be
cabbage
carrot
celery
green pepper
green onion
onion
garlic
green beans
throw it all in a hot wok get them veggies kinda tender then turn off heat add sauce, toss and eat until I am so stuffed I can't move. Then repeat it all tomorrow and for me because of the ukki bannana's again for day four
Offline
another idea for the veggies is the 'ratatouille' (like the movie!)
garlic, onions, eggplants, tomatoes, peppers of all colors and zucchinis!
and to answer your question nancy, i blended the soup and I don't think it's bland at all. I really like my soup. I guess it's the twist of cayenne pepper, curry and cilantro that really helps

Good job everyone!! It sounds like y'all are doing so well!!! Congrats! I have stuck to it ok today, went home for lunch and had a salad. Topped it with salsa that I usually love and for some reason it was disgusting!! UGH! I dont know why. I stuck with it though. And now I am SO looking forward to that baked potato tonight. Nancy, I think I will try your idea of making carrot fries. I think I may coat them with some splenda, cinnamon and salt and maybe they will be like a sweet and salty treat!! Cant wait to try it out! On another note, I seem to have problems accessing these threads from time to time. So if I happen to go a long time without posting sometime, it isn't for a lack of trying. If I get to post or not, my heart is with all of you and cheering us all on!!

Hi All,
Its 10pm london time and finishing off day 4 and thought I would try the bananas and skimmed milk again and survived. Decided to have some plain low fat yogurt with the banana this morning and it helped.
Also have a latte with the skimmed milk.
My tummy was upset this morning but I think it helped with the hunger pangs! still losing 1 lb a day which is great
Out for a chinease with friends so will have to make up for it and do an extra day before
I have a break
Nancy how long of a break will you have before we start week 2 ?

secotine that sounds good right up until the eggplant gets there. Not a fan LOL
Rachie I know what you mean about getting on to post it happens to me in the eve mostly. I may do the carrot fries tomorrow night when it is not potato night. You just have to keep cooking them until they crisp and I could not belive how long that seemed to take. Another helpful hint use parchment paper under the carrots so much easier to clean up
Have any of you tried the South Beach Diet, I was just doing a bit of reading and not sure I could do it because of all the meat.
Then I got to thinking about WW but then I have to think about the foods again and how many "points"
This diet is so easy --- here is your list---eat away not thinking involved but it is limiting in certain ways.
Ya know I don't miss my bread yet this week..strange

I am over halfway thru day 5. Doing ok with it. Had to make a new pot of soup today...just got back from the store. Added portibella mushrooms to it and beef broth. I am going to add meatballs to my soup tonight. I think day 6 and 7 will be a breeze. Had temptation today tho.... the kids wanted some Mac and cheese..... *groan* Never knew NOT eating took so much will power.
As for posting... I have trouble getting on here sometimes too. Sometimes I just cant get on here. Weird. I have DSL so dont think my connection is the problem.
Everybody is doing good! I am going to start my 2nd week on Monday. (or Tuesday)

ok-the sun is down which always feels good cause it means maybe we got through another day.
My sweetie went out for beers with the boys because he is nice enough not to be boozy in front of me. Though he did disclose his grilled cheese at lunch!!
zoey2004-WOW 35 years!!!!
That is amazing!! You deserve a celebration! If you stick to high protein on the day it shouldn't get too much in the way of your diet-BUT WOW again!! I have never been married, so you are an inspiration!
Nancy-It really feels like you've got everyones back-It sure does help going on this blog after a day of non-dieting pedestrians!
Domething delicious-steamed broccoli sparkled with fresh garlic and fresh ginger! Yum. I didn't make it to the gym so I don't know if I have lost any wait -
I sure do feel LIGHT headed! lol.
Good work everyone-
I am going to do the curry coriander (great tip secotine) blend tomorrow-

HB you are so funnnnnny....posting three times in a row LOL done the same thing myself a time or two.
Good job Nikldollars day four is such a bugger to get through for everyone but after that it is all down hill. I am looking forward to my day four (not) well actually I am going to repeat day 3 I really can not do dariy and bannana anything makes me gag so why torture myself if I do day 3 again at aleast I pretty much stick to the plan and not splurge
Annyalla not sure which day I will go round 2, this is actually my round 2 now. lost 4.5 that week but gained 1.5 back the first day off ----damm that bottle of wine, pasta and bread.
So this week I started at 170 and we will see what I drop. I like to wait one week inbetween. When I did this last year and did two weeks back to back the weight loss was very little. I found if you give yourself a week break you have better success. I don't mean run out and stuff yourself with pasta, bread and wine like I did but eat sensible, try to eat more plant type foods and simple proteins verses complex carbs like bread, pizza and pasta

Did the cabbage soup diet after I gave birth to my first child in October 2004. I lost a total of 20kg over a period of 6 months. did the diet religiously every 2 weeks accompanied by 20min of cardio on my orbitrek every day. I did not pick any of that weight back up afterwards until recently. I have started comfort eating to cope with my divorce and having to raise my child by myself. I have started on day one today and it is going well. I hope this will power lasts. I want to feel good and look good again and get my self-esteem back. I do not know how much i weigh and dont want to either. lol. I will weigh myself at the end of the 7 days rather. This diet is not easy, but if you remain focused u CAN and WILL have success. This diet DOES work, I have experienced this first hand. anybody want to be my dietbuddi, ur more than welcome! I will be following the fit for life programm in between my cabbage soup diet weeks (probably twice a month). good luck and stay focused girls!!!!!!

Hi Nancy
Sorry, I forgot to give my weight to you on Monday!! When I started it was 152lbs.
I am now on day 3, and am still going strong!!
Last night's potato was 'n "blessing", cause I was craving for some carbs a lot yesterday, but today I am doing better!!
Stay strong everyone!!!! WE WILL SUCCEED!!!

I am glad day 2 is over. Everything was doing fine... until 7pm... i was so bloaded. so I decided to do some cardio... and it got worse. I still managed to do 40 min of cardio... and finally it got better before I went to bed.
I was feeling so bad, I did not even want to eat my potatoe.
But this morning, I went on the scale and I cannot believe it! I already lost 4 lbs.
With any other diet it would take at least 4 days before I see any weight loss.
CSD is great!!!!
So girls, even if you crave sugar, stick to the diet, it really works.
Good luck on day three
PS: HB you crack me up and I hope my recipe will help you enjoy the cabbage soup!
