Day 5!! YAY meat! I am looking forward to a bunless hamburger with a huge slice of tomato!!
Down almost another 2lbs, which I find shocking after yesterday, but wonderful none-the-less! So now I am back to where I was at the end of the last week I did this, before I went absolutely nuts and ate everything in sight!! So hopefully I will go down a few more pounds this week, but we'll see. I am currently at 222.
Great job Nikl!! THat is awesome!
How's everyone doing this morning?

It is the begining of day 5 for most of us on this thread...wow what a week this has been!
Everyone seems to still be focused and have that Monday morning weigh in to look forward too.
I am looking forward to a little turkey with my lunch then for dinner some fresh caught trout, grilled out back in my yard, steamed green beans and maybe a salad.
Sad news--
Still not lost an ounce but I feel lighter which I could not say yesterday
If possible and only if you like I would to post all of our victories in weight loss on monday but some I do not have starting weights. If you dont want to tell here give me the last digit in your starting weight and the last digit on your ending weight
I do not have anything for Coreen, Lomimi, Jenifer, Annyalla, Honeybear and zoey and I am sure I have missed a few LOL its the old age in me

Good day (5) everyone!!!
Phew OVER THE (banana) HUMP
I still haven't gotten to a scale but even my sweetheart noticed a difference this morning-
The jeans slipped on a little easier and my muffin top wasn't a souffle!
SO feeling really good today
Nancy-its great you are noticing a change even though your scale isn't behaving. That seems so strange-Keep up the good work and you will feel even better.
Rachie! Great news! I really didn't think the coffee would blow the diet.
I will find a scale somewhere-I do have some idea of what I weighed so I think I will be able to somewhat guage my losses.
Yesterday was much easier then I thought. Just a little boring without the wine life!
I really don't think I could have gotten through this week with no cheats without the lot of you-
still a few days to go though-
The weekend approaches which is always a bit harder, so lets keep keeping eachother up!
HB
p.s how many of us on the 20th plan on doing this again? I travel for a living so as of sept 5th I will be out on the road which makes it very very difficult to stick to the csd-
Just wondering

Isn't it a great feeling to be on day 5??? but these next few days will be the test... I am taking my mom out to lunch tomorrow at an itlian resturant. I hope they have a good salad and maybe some type of chicken. I refuse to eat pasta after this many days into the csd to blow it now.
I plan on finishing this week then really venturing out and going to try 2 weeks on phase one of south beach diet. I have had the book now for 2 years and never tried it. Since I don't seem to be losing any weight on csd I think the thing for me is that I am just not a big meat fan that is why the csd appeals to me. If after the first week it is too hard for me to stick too I will be back and ready to go on Monday Sept 10th.
Of couse I will be here reading the posts and replying like I do now. Where would I be without the support of this group?

Nancy,
I have done the south beach and although the phase 1 is a little strict, the principals of the diet are very healthy. I try to do the csd about once a month for a week and just use the sb as my lifestyle change diet. And what is good about the sb--you are allowed the carbs so long as they are the healthy ones such as whole grains. Also, the south beach diet has many products available in the grocery store such as prepared frozen meals, salad dressings and cereal bars which takes the guess work out of what is allowed.

I have also tried the sb diet- I prefer csd because of the strict sugar rules in terms of veggies and fruits. (like not being able to eat carrots!!)
It did help me make a lifestyle change adopting only having whole grains etc as well, stephanie.
Brown rice pasta is actually very delicious.
The csd has shown the most progress for me and I get much hungrier on the sb for some reason.
I look forward to hearing your experience nancy.

ZOEY!!!
I just found this on line
Licorice
Researches proved that 1 licorice per day helps melting fat.
go here to read more about it-

Thanks Stephaine and HB on your experiences with SB. I know me if I don't have some clear guidlines I will go right back into my old eating and drinking habits. I probally will do like you Stephaine and use sb for my lifstyle changes and csd for those quick weeks
although my week has not been a quick loss LOL...day five of csd and the scale has weighed me the same for the past 11 days..those other 6 days I ate pasta and drank wine....go figure????
Life is a strange one or at least my body is but I am still hopful that come Monday morning there will be a differnce and I am going to elebrate with_______ (shh it is a secret)
yes I know it is bad for me but I deserve it..SB can wait until Wednesday

Hello all! I haven't able to get to the grocery yet, so I didnt have any meat for lunch.
I did have 3 delicious tomatoes though. It is pouring cats and dogs in this part of the country though, so I don't know if I will make a stop for meat or not. I may go without today and enjoy it on days 6 and 7... I may cook up some brown rice and stir fry veggies for dinner and pretend like it is day 7 today. Keep it up! Everyone is doing SO well!!

Hi guys!
I haven't been around here lately and I didn't start on Monday as I had planned, but I did start none the less.
Not sure if I can do the whole 7 days because we have plans tomorrow (involving food!) but I may just start day 1 again on Sunday!
So far I am down 4 pounds which is great but I always do well the first 3 days and then I gain some back after that, maybe that's why I've only completed the full cycle once!
Anyway, it sounds like you've all been doing great, and you seem like a great bunch! Nancy you are going to lose this time, don't give up!! You are too diligent NOT to!
Hang in there guys! Cheers!! (no, no cheers this weekend, I hope!)
Offline
Rachie I think what ever combination you do will be fine, stay in the house and watch a little TV or read LOL
twlight, you always know what to say to keep me going thankyou..I know you can do a 7 day cycle but if you see result in the first days then it goes back why not do the entire 7 days and see what happens?
This is going to be a tough weekend I thnk we all strugle with the un-structure of it. But if we cn hang on until monday morning it will be worth it (It had better be for me LOL)
If I only lose a pound I will become like the tazmain devil and say some pretty aweful things to anyone who does not close their ears
But on the upside I know it has to be at least 3 pounds right?

Hi all
Looks like every body is doing fine. Nancy, don't worry, I am sure you will see suprising results on Monday.
What I like about this week is that I get filled more and more easily as the week goes. Today I only had a bowl of soup and a steak so far, and I am not even hungry. A steak has never tasted so good I have to admit!
I also hope to see results Monday, and I am not stepping on the scale until Monday.
I will be restarting the csb on September 9th with two friends. I hope that a bunch of you will do the same, you guys have helped so much
Only two days to go. We are so close!

Nancy if you don't lose anything, then there is something wrong! (Welcome to Menopause?) It's so discouraging is't it? I don't know why trying to get this extra weight off me has been so hard! and when I don't get results I give up. I will definately do the CSD over and over I know that. I may eve try to do it again with the normal day 4 (yuck) maybe my problem is that I try to tweak it! The first time I tried it I kept saying "it's only 7 days", and now I find myself saying "7 days too long!)
I really think scales can be our enemies! but seriously, if you don't lose, there's something wrong! (Do they put calories in cabbage in Washington?) Maybe menopause or thyroid, who knows. but I think you will do good so don't give up! Remember, it worked before so it should work again!

Well, thank you for all those who wished me happy anniversary, yes 35 years. So we did go out yesterday. Had two banans and some soy milk, don't like skim milk, and then for our anniversary dinner I had a salad with roquefort dressing, lots of vegetables and leafy ones too, one crab cake, took the other one home and had it today, with the tomatoes. Also a baked potatoe, but I only ate half of it. I gained 2 pounds back, did not even have licorice. Thank you honeybear for the licorice note, that was nice, but I like a different kind, salty, not sweet, I know what it does to blood pressure though. Still have not had any today, out of sight, out of mind. I feel a bit fat today, I am disaapointed that I gained 2 pounds back from my 2 1/2 pound loss. My husband surprised me with a two week trip to Hawaii, so you know what that means.....that was a real surprise though, he tried to book China, but he could not get the visas in time, so it was the second wish, to Hawaii, still great!!! Should be walking, but will treat my husband to some ice cream tonight, will have to be strong myself.

secotine and twilight thank you for the encouragement! I will stick it out till monday but I have to tell you I did slip up last night and not sorry I did either.
Got some really shocking news yesterday afternoon and talking with my spouse, my sis, my mom well basiclly my entire support system I was so keyed up I went out and bought a bottle of wine and drank 2.5 glasses and had several handfuls of nuts. before going to bed. Slept like a baby though LOL and feel better--plus I won't be having any more of the vino I know I don't want to ruin this week completly.
twilight you mentioned menopause..yes I have the symptoms so that is a factor with my age but I am going to wait until my final weigh in on Monday
twilight what if you do the diet 3 on 1 off 3 on 1 off? would that be easier for you?

Niki, Your weightloss is so encouraging! I'm not weighing myself until the last day. I tend to get a little obessed and then discouraged when I weigh myself everyday. I want to lose 15lbs by Sept. 11 and I started yesterday which I think is a good goal. Please keep us posted on your success!
Offline
I'm on day 3 and trying to hang in there so we will see. Actually I kind of started Wed. but had veggies and fruit and thurs. just the soup and fruit, yesterday just veggies and soup, today so far just soup. We are going to a baseball game tonight and it will be hard to resist the beer, peanuts and Italian Beef sandwiches we normally get but I will try. I told my husband I would be the designate driver so maybe that way I will stick to my guns. I think I can resist the food well enough, but not the wine, beer or cocktails, and when I have drinks...there goes the diet!
I may just skip day 4 and go on to day 5 rather than replacing it, since it IS the weekend, would be nice to have some meat and tomates with my hubby!
Barb has been doing the CSD with me on the other site but she may stop Monday, unless I can convince her to stick with me! 7 days is long, I like the idea of 3 on 1 off Nancy, that could work for all of us as long as the day off isn't crazy! Some wine and fruit and low fat cheese? It could be a new sensation!!!
Good Luck all! Weekends are the true test, aren't they?

Twilight, I find myself never being hungry since day 4. I don't even think about food anymore. I hope you'll find the courage to pass day 3. It is so much easier after.
I am heading to the W&C party... I have carrots and celeries in my purse, and a bottle of perrier. We'll see how it goes but I have filled myself with beef for lunch and jsut had soup before leaving.
Can't weight for the weight in on Monday
Offline
Oh twilight I wish you luck at the game, that would be a real test for me too. we went to a game a few weeks back while I was doing this the first time and I slipped and had a "dog" and boy did my stomach tell me that was a mistake LOL
good job preparing secotine just keep those hands full. As for not being hungry, I have not really been hungry either but I just find I need to graze all the time so I keep a baggie with raw veggies near me. It even went shopping with me today
I also went to lunch with my mom and sis this afternoon--itlian! I had the chicken parmeson so I had my salad then when the entree came I took most of the sauce off the chicken and ate the chicken breast and then brought the pasta part home for my hubby. That was the best I could do and stick to csd.
Whoo day 7 is soo close
Offline
Well here it is day 7, did not think we would make it!
I did slip a bit yesterday and had a small glass of wine, had to finish what was in our friggy but.....
And this is finally a biggy for me I weighed and I am down 4 pounds! finally
I was really worried I did this entire week to lose nothing!
Today I am treating my self to breakfast, egg beaters with some chopped veggies in it and low cal low fat omlet so to speak then my soup for lunch and salad and veggies for dinner

I made it through!! All I had all day was grapes and soup! I drank water at the game and although we brought a pound of peanuts with us and everyone else was drinking and eating, I stood firm! I volunteered to be the Designated Driver and felt that was my responsibility and stood by t, otherwise I would have a grabbed a beer so fast!(and I am not even a beer drinker! -just a drinker I guess!)
Anyway we got home and I had some soup and more grapes and was so proud of myself!
So I may do day 3 again today or just go to day 5 depending on if my DH wants some fish or chicken tonight. he gets his cholestrol checked tomorrow so he may just eat watermelon all day, which would be good, though I am craving some protien. But I really do think the worst part is over for me. It's that middle part that kills me and once I get over the hump I do better!
WOW NANCY!!! RIGHT ON! WAY TO GO! CONGRATS!
:bounce:you must be extatic!!
Good luck all! I can't wait to hear of your progress!
