I have tried some diets before and I did not stick to them. I am really wanting to lose weight. I had a baby six months ago and I am trying to lose 50 lbs. If I have a buddy I may have a better chance to stick to it and I would also like to be supportive for someone else also. I can not start until Monday because we have a birthday supper tomorrow. My soup is cooked and it smells really awesome. I added some dill to it so I think that is what I am smelling. Anyway I wish everyone the best!

Good luck when you start, I started yesterday (Saturday) and we shall see how it goes, first time doing it, looking for a diet to kickstart some radical changes lol...

Actually, I am not from Scotland. I am originally from Nova Scotia, Canada. There is a lot of Celtic ancestry there. My finance's family is from Scotland so I have been using scottishfriend as a user ID. I am now living in Saskatchewan, Canada. How much weight are you hoping to lose. I would like to lose 10 but I think that is unrealistic. How are you doing do far?

I am 11st 7lb as of Friday when I weighed myself...
I don't want to be unrealistic, I will be happy if by the end of the week I am nearly 11ST, my overall target is 9ST and I am hopig to get there in time for the summer...
Need to make positive changes, more exercise and less fast food, alcohol in general bt I do hope the diet can start me on a positive note...
I am going to weigh myself on Monday, which will be my day 3 and by then I hope too have lost a few pounds

I will have to look how to convert you weight into what we use here in Canada (pounds, or lbs). Good luck, I will check in with tomorrow:)

Hi there I just figured out that 1 Stone equals to 14 pounds. I weigh 12.5 stones. My goal is also the same as yours. I am only 5"0 tall.

I am about 5 foot 2, I am sure e will get there. Seems a lot at the moment, but I applied for the police force a while back and you need to be in a heigh/weight ration and for that well I need to be around 9 stone...

How are you doing so far? Do you think you will run out of soup? I have seen some posts on here and some people say that they had to make another pot of soup. I start tomorrow and I am really excited.

Paula: You did so well. Today is day 1 for me and the soup does not taste that bad. Did you have to make another pot of soup? Why are you not doing the whole 7 days? Keep up the great work!!

Hello scottishfriend,
Maritimer eh? Spent 9 years in Halifax :-) In Toronto now! Hope you and your husband enjoy SK.
I am on day 3 today and realize I only have enough soup for tomorrow at lunch and as a snack. I will have to make a fresh batch tomorrow night for supper and for the remaining days.
I am starting to wonder if I am eating too much soup. From what I read doesn't seem like it.
We'll see at the end of this challenge "I see it more as a challenge to myself and a start to a new healthy lifestyle" than a diet - cause I don't beleive in diets.
I decided not to weight myself until waking up after day 7.
I find I have a whole lot more of energy and my skin looks great!
Good luck to you :-)

I just found thtat if I stuck to the whole thing I might not make it, so Iread where one lady had done it this way too and lost like 50lbs, so it give me some time to eat what I want in moteration of curse, I have lost 8lbs and people are starting to notice, my face is not a chubby now...I will let you know if this works or not but I am still losing weight so I must be doing something right...I have made about 8 pots of soup as both me and my hubby are doing this, so...we eat a lot of it. I add a kids of spices to my soup as well to make it taste good....Good luck to you:blush:

To both FrenchGarcon and Paula:
You sound like you are both doing very well. I am on the morning of day two and I lost 2 pounds already I am really happy with myself.
I am really looking forward to my baked potatoe. I have been eating 3 bowls of soup each day and if I keep that up I will have to make another pot of soup also. I will keep you updated. Keep up the awesome work both of you.

Hello everyone: This is the morning of day 3 for me I am so surprised that I had made it this far. I weighed myself this morning and I am down 5 pounds. This has given me the motivation I needed to complete the other days. I am looking forward to the beef days. I am finding the vegetables the hardest to eat.

I have a hard time with only vegetables too. This is only the morning of Day 2 for me and I'm struggling. But I know I can make it. I'm looking forward to the baked potato later. :-)

The baked potatoe is so good the 2nd night. I put garlic salt and pepper and it was so good. Make sure the skin is crunchy and YUMO!!! You will never enjoy a baked potatoe again as you do this day. LOL

Oh my gosh - that was so true! That was the best potato of my life. Today was just brutal - every second I was on the verge of breaking but it's 8pm and I'm still hanging in there. My dad was eating steak and my boyfriend was enjoying chocolate chip cookies so it wasn't easy. Give me strength.

My finace came home today with my favorite treat in the whole world. Cadbury Creme Eggs!!!, they are to die for. I use to eat three at one sitting. He brought home two for me this evening. He actually had forgotten that I was on the diet. Guess what....I did not eat them nor did I even really want them. Ok....just a little bit, lol. I am still doing well, this is the evening of day 4 for me. I must say that I was only able to drink 2 cups of the skim milk today. I did well with the bananas. Over the next three days the plan says to have atleast 3 bowls of soup. I only have enough left for 3 bowls of soup. Please someone tell me what should I do, should I make another batch of soup or just eat 1 bowl of soup a day?

Hello scottishfriend ,
I am on day 7 today and cannot wait for tomorrow morning to weigh myself!!
I followed the French version and mixed it up a little bit with the English version (the one on this site). In the French version it requires eating 3 bowls of soup a day. (noon, afternoon snack and supper) And from what I understand you need to eat lots and lots of soup. Another batch (maybe half a recipe) would do the trick and could be a good idea. My bowls were big bowls and it really stuffed me when I had it.
Glad to hear your doing well! Hang in there, day 7 comes quicker than you think!.
(I am very tired of the soup) I could only have a table spoon tonight.
